OVERVIEW:
Since 1946 Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) has delivered the VCS benefits to millions of Veterans enrolled in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Healthcare system, the largest Healthcare system in the United States. VCS is a program office in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) that is Veteran-facing, providing America’s Veterans enrolled in VA’s Health Care System, their families, caregivers, and VA employees, with reasonably priced merchandise and services essential to their comfort and well-being.
The Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) located at the Jefferson Barracks VA Medical Center in St. Louis, MO, is seeking a Program Support Assistant (Business to Business) in the Services Division. This position will report directly to the Chief of Services (Central Office). The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the decision process for product assortments, ensuring they are compelling, commercially viable, and support overall business objectives.
DUTIES:
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
Product Assortment Decisions: Support the selection of product assortments that drive sales and profitability.
B2B Program Engagement: Promote the B2B program with both internal teams and external partners while providing excellent customer service.
Market Awareness: Monitor pricing trends, marketing activity, and market conditions, and share relevant updates with the team.
Advertising Coordination: Work with the Brand and Communication Division to plan seasonal advertising strategies.
Business Growth Opportunities: Identify and develop new business opportunities to strengthen our position as the preferred vendor for promotional products.
Client Support: Manage client requests and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with all policies related to government, promotional, and incentive funds.
General Support: Assist with other related duties as needed.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Analytical & Financial Skills: Demonstrates strong analytical ability and retail math knowledge, including gross margin and ROI calculations.
Negotiation & Presentation: Skilled in negotiation and confident in delivering group presentations.
Organization & Efficiency: Highly organized and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in PC use and comfortable working with multiple computer applications.
Attention to Detail: Maintains accuracy and precision in all tasks.
Time Management & Prioritization: Able to multitask and adjust to changing priorities while managing time efficiently.
Communication & Problem-Solving: Communicates clearly, both verbally and in writing, and demonstrates strong problem-solving skills
A current, valid REAL ID is required to work at Veterans Canteen Service.
Participation in the seasonal influenza and Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Vaccination programs are requirements for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP). Participation in the seasonal influenza program is a condition of employment. It is a requirement that all HCP receive the COVID-19 vaccination and annual seasonal influenza vaccination or obtain an exemption for medical or religious reasons.
