About the role
As a **Senior QA Engineer – Data & ETL** , you will make an impact by ensuring the integrity, quality, and reliability of data across platforms and pipelines. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with client stakeholders, offshore teams, and Agile squads to drive testing excellence across releases.
In this role, you will:
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and PI planning sessions to align testing efforts with sprint goals.
• Execute test planning and validation activities across multiple releases and states.
• Perform database and ETL testing including data integrity, reconciliation, and schema validation.
• Coordinate with client and offshore points of contact to ensure seamless testing execution.
• Provide periodic status updates on assigned user stories and testing progress.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an **onsite position** requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Louisville, Kentucky, USA

What you need to have to be considered:
• 8+ years of Strong experience in Database/ETL Testing:
• Data Integrity, Quality, and Reconciliation
• Source-to-Target Testing and Schema Validation
• Stored Procedures Testing
• Intermediate SQL skills for data injection and retrieval
• Familiarity with Oracle and SQL Server
• Data manipulation and platform comparison (e.g., On-prem vs Cloud)
• Working knowledge of Databricks:
• Delta table familiarity
• File types: CSV, JSON, Parquet
• Basic understanding of ADLS storage accounts
These will help you stand out
• Automation Testing: Proficiency with tools like Selenium.
• Knowledge of SDLC and Agile testing methodologies.
• Requirement Management Tool familiarity, ex: Azure
• Test Management Tool familiarity, ex: qTest
• Good in Verbal and Written Communication
• Critical Thinking, Attention to Detail and Professionalism.

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until October 30 th , 2025
The annual salary for this position is between $71,100 to 112,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
