Title: GCP Architect

Responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) that align with business and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end cloud architectures (compute, storage, networking, data, and security).

• Lead cloud migration and modernization strategies (VMs, databases, applications).

• Define best practices for cloud adoption, governance, and security.

• Architect data and analytics platforms (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Dataproc).

• Provide technical leadership to developers, DevOps, and data engineers.

• Optimize cloud costs, performance, and reliability.

• Ensure compliance with security standards and regulatory frameworks.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into cloud-native solutions.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on expertise in GCP services (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, VPC, IAM, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud SQL, Spanner).

• Solid understanding of cloud architecture patterns (microservices, serverless, hybrid, multi-cloud).

• Experience in CI/CD, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Knowledge of cloud security, networking, and identity management.

• Familiarity with data pipelines, ML/AI solutions, and cloud-native app development.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.The GCP Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) that align with business and technical requirements. They ensure scalability, security, performance, and cost optimization across cloud infrastructure, applications, and data platforms.

The annual salary for this position is between $80k – $ 130k depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
