Job Title: Residential Program Manager
Department: Residential Services
Position Summary: The Program Manager of Residential Services plays a key leadership role in ensuring the effective delivery of holistic, high-quality residential care for children in cottage settings. This position works collaboratively across departments to align programming with each client’s individual goals and the organization’s standards. In partnership with the Senior Director, this role helps shape departmental policies and procedures, leads strategic planning for program implementation, and supports internal investigations. The Program Manager also assists in staff development through regular supervision, team meetings, and performance management to be centered on professional growth and exceptional client care.

Gateway Longview’s Residential Treatment Services is a therapeutic intervention for youth ages 12-18 and supports them in developing the skills needed to successfully live with their families or in the community.

$60,405 - $63,000 per year

Hours/Schedule
Monday - Friday

Schedule to be flexible with program needs, including weekends, evenings, and other scheduled hours.

Position Specific Duties/Responsibilities:
+ Work collaboratively with other components of the Residential program to ensure effective treatment teaming and delivery of services consistent with holistic planning and implementation.
+ Assist the Senior Director in the development and administration of policies and procedures for the department which ensure the highest quality of cottage and group home programming for children.
+ Provide direct supervision to recreation staff and program supervisors, ensuring accountability, consistency, and high performance.
+ Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of community-based activities and life skills programming, ensuring alignment with client goals and agency standards.
+ Conduct monthly individual supervision sessions with supervisors to provide guidance, address concerns, and support professional growth.
+ Support the termination process by participating in information gatherings, documentation review, and decision-making in collaboration with HR and leadership.
+ Prepare agendas for and facilitate regular staff meetings, creating a space for communication, collaboration, and training.
+ Oversee daily staff and program agendas to ensure effective time management, client engagement, and program coverage.
+ Work collaboratively with education, social work, recreation, and community organizations to ensure the highest quality of care.
+ Assist the Senior Director with the coordination of Justice Center investigations which includes working with the Office of Child and Family Services and the Justice Center.
+ Ensure agency policies and procedures along with State Oversight Agency regulations are being followed to ensure consistency to treatment approach within their unit. Assist with the implementation of new or revised polices, standards and procedures along with the training that is needed as a result.
+ Periodically review written documentation such as Significant Incident Reports, court updates and shift reports to ensure the quality is to the standards of the Office of Child and Family Services or local Department of Social Services.
+ Ensure effective collaboration between residential staff, clinical staff and other campus disciplines and departments to promote a consistent team approach to treatment.
+ Be the primary on-call person for staffing issues.
+ Participate in the collaboration of the Solution Focused Trauma Informed Care Principles, which would include training opportunities, group consultations, and the use of the core principles of collaboration, empowerment, safety, choice and trustworthiness.
+ Other duties as assigned

+ Must have excellent communication and customer service skills
+ Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented
+ Ability to work independently and be an enthusiastic team player
+ Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
+ Ability to physically restrain youth after successful completion of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training
+ Ability to work effectively with clients, staff, families, and community contacts
Qualifications
+ High School Diploma and/or GED
+ 3 years of relevant experience
+ 1 year of supervisory experience
+ Valid NYS Driver’s License
