Job Summary:
Human Resources Generalist 2 delivers a variety of Human Resource functions inclusive of recruitment support, benefits administration, HRIS Management, coaching, policy development, and compliance. This position serves employees across the Company and supports management objectives. As an integral member of the HR Department, HR Generalist 2 must analyze existing HR and management systems and identify and communicate potential changes and improvements. The HR Generalist 2 will have the capacity to support the HR team on all personnel matters, and other duties as assigned, in a highly confidential manner.

Essential Functions:
Business
+ Lends compliance expertise and assistance to Director of HR and VP of HR with regard to all applicable State and Federal Laws affecting employee compensation, employment status, working conditions and benefits.
+ Reviews and edits disciplinary documentation and recommends proper disciplinary action; perform or attend disciplinary meetings or terminations, as necessary.
+ Manages Unemployment Insurance claims by tracking charges, providing timely responses.
+ Responsible for benefits administration to include FMLA, Paid Family Leave and Disability claims.
+ Assists and supports all HR tasks and projects (EAP, Wellness Program, Employee Orientation, Open Enrollment, TMR, etc.), providing leadership/management as requested.
+ Assists in the management of HR recordkeeping via paper and electronic files, including but not limited to benefits information, training records, and employment agreements.
+ Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to Human Resources.
+ Assists Recruitment Manager with various recruitment functions including reviewing applications, conducting phone screening for entry-level positions, coordinating interviews, processing applications, and sending applicants.
+ correspondence on behalf of the Recruitment Manager and assisting with New Employee Orientation as needed.
+ Assists VP and Director of HR with employee personnel investigations as requested.
+ Assists in identification, reporting, and follow up of employee workplace injuries and assists in the set up and management of the Company’s Modified Duty Program.
+ Assists in updating the ADP and SharePoint employee portals.
+ Assists with TMR process as requested.
+ Run reports as requested.
+ Coordinates and reports information for the weekly HR KPI Report.
People
+ Acts as a resource for day-to-day employee issues, concerns, and benefit needs.
+ Assists in responding to inquiries about employment with the company, answering such inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
+ Assists with benefits enrollments and changes for new and existing employees.
+ Assists with employee communication of HR related information (i.e., internal job postings) as requested.
+ Acts as a management resource by coaching managers with regard to employee development and performance management.
+ Attend employee meetings as a liaison for the HR Department as requested.
Self-Organization
+ Ensure that employee documentation is complete and compliant.
+ Participates/engages in personal Human Resource development.
Required Skills:
+ Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field
+ 3-5 years’ Human Resource experience
+ PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP certification(s) preferred.
+ MS Office expert
+ Strong working knowledge of HRIS systems and reporting.
+ Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and unexpected events (fast paced with multiple deadlines).
+ Strong problem-solving ability.
+ Approachable, welcoming, and demonstrative of a positive work culture.
+ Ability to take direction then execute in a self-directed manner.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
Work Shift Requirements:
+ Ability to work flexible, additional hours as needed.
+ Use and maintenance of company-issued laptop and cell phone.
+ Must speak to supervisor to notify him/her any time prior to the beginning of work shift when calling in sick. Voice mail or e-mail messages are not acceptable replacements.
Environment & Physical Demands
+ Work safely and follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies and procedures.
+ For all on-the-job injuries or accidents, must notify Safety Officer, supervisor, and Human Resources immediately (no later than 1 hour).
+ Ability to lift 20 lbs.
+ Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
