             Infant Teacher Assistant Job Details Level Entry Job Location Main Campus - Syracuse, NY Position Type Full Time Education Level High School Salary Range $17.00 - $17.00 Hourly Travel Percentage None Job Shift Day Job Category Education Description Position Statement:The Infant Teacher Assistant is responsible for sharing in the planning and caring for children in the Infant classroom. This person is responsible for sharing in the planning and daily programming for children in an infant classroom. This person will function as a team member for educational programming for children. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position with benefits.Responsibilities: Participate daily in collaboratively planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities for both inside and outside (weather permitting) the classroom; Develop educational material necessary for daily activities; Maintain a nurturing, orderly, predictable and safe classroom and center environment; Maintain up-to-date child and/or classroom records; Develop professional, positive, and productive relationships with children, families, agency staff, visitors, outside agencies, and the general public; Disseminate information effectively to parents through daily contact, written correspondence, and/or parent conferences; Participate in the evaluation of children in the classroom regarding their developmental progress; Know and follow Day Care regulations; Cooperate with other staff members to maintain standards of professionalism throughout the center; Attend workshops, conferences, and in-service training programs as required; Perform other duties as assigned by the management team Qualifications Qualifications: Required Qualifications:  High School Diploma or GED  At least 1 year of Experience with young children  Excellent communication skills  Ability to express a supportive, caring demeanor to relate sensitively to children  Understanding of behavioral principles  Strong leadership and team building skills  Ability to squat, crouch, kneel, bend, walk, sit and stand for prolonged periods of time  Ability to lift 50lbs without assistance  Flexibility to adapt to a variety of classroom settings Preferred Qualifications:  Associate’s Degree (in relevant field), CDA or Certified as a Teacher Assistant
