The T55 Project Engineering team has an opening for a Sr. Advanced Project Engineer. Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the interest, aptitude, and experience associated with the design, development, test and support of gas turbine engines for rotary-wing applications.
+ Lead the design, development and test activity through all aspects of the Integrated Product Delivery and Support (IPDS) process, on schedule, on budget and in compliance with all technical requirements.
+ Broad indirect span of control of approximately 6 full time equivalent engineers.
+ Cost account manager for assigned scope, including Earned Value Management System reporting. Annual budgetary responsibility approximately $3M.
+ Expected to serve as the single point engineering leader for the assigned scope
+ Lead a diverse cross functional team to accomplish the scope
+ Escalate effectively with leadership and cross-functionally across the organization
+ Strong commitment to customer satisfaction
+ Bias toward creative thinking and innovation in product design and approach to everyday work
+ Implement design-to-cost and variation-reduction strategies
+ Promote and build strong team working relationships
+ Manage within very difficult resource constraints
+ Identify gaps and risks on behalf of the team
+ Balances workload of the team members
+ Monitor work of team members to recognize when they are “stuck” or “off track”
+ Leverages technical experts to review the technical work of the team
+ Leads trade studies and RCCA activities
+ Communicate project status with internal and external customers
+ **YOU MUST HAVE**
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
+ 5+ years’ engineering experience in design, development, and/or test of gas turbine engines or similarly complex mechanical systems.

+ Bachelors in mechanical or aerospace engineering
+ Prior experience leading gas turbine engine design and development activities.
+ Testing of moderately complex systems.
+ Excellent oral and written communications.
+ Program/Project Management experience.
+ Strong cost account management skills.
+ Demonstrates a bias for action and ability to work independently.
+ Prioritizes time and resources effectively.
+ Ability to build constructive working relationships with internal customers and suppliers.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrix organization to accomplish technical objectives under strict schedule constraints.
