Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
+ At least two years’ experience facilitating evidence-based public health programs with partners at medical schools, universities, and public health agencies and associations in Texas.
+ Hold a graduate degree in public health or related health discipline.
+ Ability to read, write, and conduct health research using basic social scientific research skills.
+ Experience coordinating pre- and post-award grant activities for funded programs.
+ Experience working virtually with multi-site research teams and public health coalitions.
+ Demonstrated ability to effectively work independently, and as a member of a team.
+ Effective professional communication skills.
+ Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite and Zoom.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience planning and coordinating rural health research and community-based programs in Texas
Job Description
The Translational Health Research Center ( THRC ) at Texas State University facilitates applied research and events through partnerships with TXST faculty, staff, and students, businesses, community members, nonprofits, and government organizations. THRC is currently seeking a new Research and Community Senior Program Specialist to plan, lead, and facilitate translational public health research and community programs for THRC . The ideal candidate will be able to
Job Duties
+ Facilitate interdisciplinary public health research programs and activities involving THRC staff, TXST faculty and students, and external research collaborators
+ Manage virtual learning networks that involve Texas State and statewide stakeholders.
+ Coordinate THRC grant proposals and funded research programs
+ Support THRC Faculty Fellows research program activities
+ Other duties as assigned
