Job Description:
We are seeking the best talent for a **Director, Strategic Initiatives & Operations** to be located in Raritan, NJ.
This role is the Chief Technology Officer's strategic partner and trusted advisor, ensuring the CTO’s agenda is executed with precision and impact. This role combines strategic insight, operational discipline, strong collaboration skills and executive communication excellence.
Acting as an integrator and liaison, this role enables the CTO and Technology Services Leadership Team (TSLT) to focus on high value priorities by managing the operating rhythm, synthesizing insights, and shaping narratives for senior stakeholders. This position is an extended member of the TSLT and works closely with the CTO and TSLT members to develop and shape technology strategy and roadmap in support of the office of the CTO.
Core Responsibilities
1. Strategic alignment
+ Accountable and responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Office of the CTO, preparing concise decision briefs with context, alternatives, recommendation, and clear owners/next steps.
+ Manage CTO preparation for internal and external engagements, including executive meetings and presentations.
+ Collaborate with TSLT members to determine, prioritize, and advance business and TS vision and strategies, ensuring data-driven goals, metrics grounded in business value and financial/operational impact.
+ Manage special projects within TS to ensure organizational initiatives advance the CTO strategy and vision
+ Deliver lightweight analysis on emerging trends (e.g., AI/GenAI, digital platforms) and internal performance metrics to inform decisions.

2. Executive Reporting & Narrative Building
+ Own the monthly CTO report to the CIO/Executive Committee (EC) in partnership with Portfolio & Operations team.
+ Partner closely with Communications and Change Management: EC/Board-ready briefing materials, external speaking, Town halls, Newsletters, etc., translating complex technical updates into business-relevant insights for senior audiences.
+ Maintain a consistent executive narrative and storyline across forums and artifacts.
3. Leadership Team (TSLT) Orchestration
+ Work closely with the CTO to develop and run the bi-weekly TSLT meetings: agenda, pre-reads, decision capture, and follow-up tracking, presenters, and internal/external speakers.
+ Partner with TSLT members in opportunities to improve team efficiency and effectiveness, leveraging external benchmarks and industry insights.
+ Owns enablement tools and light-weight governance backbone such as TSLT SharePoint, Team Site, Action & Decision log and templates, partnering with Portfolio team to maintain CTO scorecard/OKRs.
+ Ensure visibility to cross-functional interlocks and surface trade-offs and escalation needs early.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or Master’s degree preferred
+ 10+ years in technology strategy, operations, senior program leadership, or equivalent experience in complex, global environments.
+ Knowledge of the technology industry is a must with a strong understanding of and ability to articulate business value
+ Proven ability to advise senior stakeholders, manage sensitive information, and influence without authority.
+ Exceptional executive communication and storytelling skills; adept at synthesizing and simplifying.
+ Strong planning and organization skills; demonstrated track record running senior operating cadences.
+ Ability to thrive in a matrixed environment with understanding of global and regional priorities and their interdependencies
+ Strong program/project management skills and financial acumen
+ Must be able to seamlessly partner and engage with individuals at multiple levels of the organization
+ Must be results-driven with ability to effectively execute multiple concurrent activities across the organization.
+ Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills along with the ability to influence without authority are critical. Must be able to concisely convey complex ideas to diverse audiences
+ Ability to influence, negotiate, and communicate with senior leaders, internal stakeholders, and external customers
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Prior work experience with a consultancy highly desired
+ Excellent understanding of strategic planning and execution, knowledge of healthcare, business theory, processes, budgeting, and business office operations
+ Familiarity with AI/GenAI trends and digital transformation (for context, not ownership).
+ Experience in a highly regulated, global enterprise (life sciences/healthcare a plus).

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$146,000 - $251,850
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis. Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
