    The Neuropsychiatry Discovery department at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting for a **Scientist, Neuropsychiatry** , located in San Diego, CA, USA.

     

    We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative researcher, who will actively engage and contribute to discovery efforts to support the Johnson & Johnson Neuropsychiatry strategy. This individual will be responsible for advancing research initiatives and support pipeline programs by applying their expertise and experience. This position presents a unique opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research and drug development to improve outcomes for patients suffering from psychiatric diseases.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Designs, performs and interprets biochemical, cellular and molecular biology experiments, and creatively develops and troubleshoots experimental protocols.

    + Independently reworks experiments and/or analyses based on interpretations and integration of emerging literature

    + Prepares and records experimental reports that include detailed methods and materials, raw data, data analyses and graphs, and conclusions in an electronic laboratory notebook.

    + Follows laboratory safety and data integrity guidelines.

    + Presents experimental results during group and project team meetings.

    + Collaborates effectively with cross-department team members to deliver on goals and objectives, and mentors more junior colleagues in techniques, processes, and responsibilities.

    Qualifications-Education:

    Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience OR a Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience in Biochemistry, Neuroscience, Molecular Biology or a similar field is required.

    Experience and Skills:

    Required:

    + Solid understanding and broad experience with molecular and cellular biology techniques, cell culture and functional assay development.

    + Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to empower and engage team members.

    + Excellent communication and listening skills.

    + Critical thinking and analytical skills to interpret sophisticated information.

    + Problem solving skills, with the ability to identify and address challenges proactively.

    + Good project management skills and able to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.

    + Strong sense of urgency, efficient and flexible attitude.

    Preferred:

    + Expertise in Neuroscience, especially in Neuropsychiatry.

    + Knowledge of drug development and pharmacology principles.

    + Experience with in vitro modeling of brain disorders.

    The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

    $89,000 - $143,750

    Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

    Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees and/or eligible dependents are eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
