    We are searching for the best talent for a **Senior Director,** **Scientific Affairs,** **Medical Information Scientific Engagement** leader located in **Titusville, NJ.**

    Purpose:

    The Senior Director, Scientific Affairs, Medical Information Scientific Engagement (MISE) is responsible for the strategy, innovation, operations, management and continuous optimization of the scientific engagement strategies across the JJIM portfolio of products. The Senior Director provides leadership and oversight to the overall MISE group, including:

     

    + Therapeutic Area teams (scientific product knowledge experts) who provide scientific engagement to customers for prioritized products to respond to unsolicited MIRs, develop patient scientific content, one-off custom responses for HCPs and MI booth support

    + Vendor management team with accountability for vendor(s) secured to handle unsolicited MIRs and product complaints from customers and a Compliance and Audit team to assure quality and compliant organization

    + Capabilities and Innovation team responsible for transformative customer support systems, processes and technologies, and robust analytics program

     

    This is a critical role within Scientific Affairs and is a customer and compliance focused position assuring continuous business processes and uninterrupted provision of Med Info engagement services across all channels and related modes of contact to JJIM, while assuring all product events are efficiently managed, service levels maintained and customer experience is optimized.

     

    Responsible for the development of all employees within the department by supporting the development of Human Resources Planning (HRP) programs including management development and training to meet current and future business needs.     You will be responsible for** **:

    Strategy and Operations Management:

    + Develop, design and execute customer and patient scientific engagement strategies and technology/innovation roadmap.

    + Oversight and execution of day-to-day workforce management, monitors the flow of customer contacts and statistical trends to assure seamless scheduling for coverage of MISE; provides oversight to major vendor(s) to assure that processes are consistently followed in accordance with standards for handling of Medical Information requests.

    + Provide leadership and collaborate on the design, execution and operations support of the Med Info technology stack – CRM, CMS, telephony systems

    + Actively engage and participate on leadership boards, including the Medical Information Leadership Team, the MISE LT, the global Medical Information Leaders Council (GMIL) Governance team, etc.

    + Responsible for an operations strategy inclusive of capabilities, technologies, supplier/partner planning that reflect the evolving and future medical information support and scientific content needs of patients and customers across the JJIM portfolio.

    + Build and maintain strong working relationships with key partners and stakeholders across multiple sectors and functional areas, worldwide, (e.g., Medical Affairs, Marketing, Information Technology, Payer Access Teams, Sales, IT, Procurement, Legal, Finance, Healthcare Compliance, Commercial Quality, Global Medical Safety Organization, Patient Engagement Customer Solutions, etc.)

    Deploy resources and budget:

    + Recruit and hire qualified, diverse, knowledgeable staff.

    + Develop team for optimal performance and customer focus.

    + Promote continuous learning and foster a team environment across the department.

    + Manage MISE budget of ~$6MM USD

    Assure compliance and quality organization through alignment and consistent execution of business processes:

    + Work closely with Systems Operations for quality oversight to ensure adherence to established policies and standards for intake of AEs and PQCs and instill an active compliance culture within the organization

    Oversee all product launches/events to ensure effective management by MISE:

    + Enable teams to manage product situations, including exquisite planning for new product launches and handling of crisis events through flexible urgent incidence response.

    + Identify potential internal/external impacts and provide a framework for building resilience and capability for effective response.

    Human Resources Management:

    + Oversee external project management resources and/or vendors as needed to supplement MISE capacity

    + Lead and develop internal resources (permanent direct report or temporary developmental roles) that may be assigned

    Oversee development of sustainable metrics, analytics and reporting of key performance indicators, operational effectiveness, and voice of customer data trends:

    + Build a robust MISE metrics strategy using surveys, AI and predictive analytics.

    + Identify issues and determine resolution strategies, data values and monitors customer satisfactio

    Qualifications / Requirements:

    + PharmD, PhD, MD/DO or other clinical/scientific terminal degree required, MBA desirable

    + A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical and/or healthcare environment required

    + Experience in Medical Information and/or Scientific Customer Engagement management/operations is highly preferred

    + Previous direct people management experience required; experience leading other people leaders desired

    + Project management of large and complex business projects; demonstrated success planning, leading and managing large-scale initiatives

    + Strategic thinking and innovative mindset

    + Enterprise leadership in a matrix environment

    + Strong collaboration and partnership skills; Ability to build consensus and impact outcomes

    + Sound knowledge of customer communication center processes

    + Strong interpersonal communication skills

    + Business continuity, crisis management or disaster recovery experience preferred

    + Strong facilitation and negotiation skills

    + Sense of urgency to manage situations with ability to remain calm

    + Local focus, global mindset

    + Up to 10% travel, mostly domestic; ability to work off-business hours during a crisis event

    + This position is located in Titusville, NJ and follows a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days remotely per week

    The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

    The expected base pay range for this position is $193,000 to $333,500.

    Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

    Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees and/or eligible dependents are eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
