    Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for a Director & Global Category Leader, Capital Construction & Project Management.

     

    J&J develops, manufactures, markets, sells, and distributes medicines, treatments & medical/surgical devices serving patients, doctors, hospitals and healthcare professionals worldwide. The portfolio of products ranges from branded & generic medicines, large molecule biologics, medical & surgical devices (all classes), eye-health & ophthalmic products.

     

    J&J continues to invest significant capital (multiple $B) to build, expand, retrofit and optimize our assets all over the world (manufacturing sites, laboratories, distribution and offices). We build, expand or optimize these assets and enable speed-to-market, supply chain excellence, and employee experience through market-leading safety, productivity, cost, and technology/innovation. To enable these goals, we seek, build and enhance strategic partnerships with suppliers of specific &/or integrated capabilities (e.g. AEPCM) and services in the fields of Architecture, Engineering, Construction & Project Management, Commissioning, Qualification, and Project Safety & Controls (together CAPEX categories)

     

    This role will provide leadership to strategize, identify, select, manage, align & implement global sourcing & supplier management strategies and network capabilities for Capital Construction & Project Management (CCPM / CAPEX) categories, with specific focus on supporting the Innovative Medicines sector’s global pharmaceutical manufacturing and R&D site expansions. In this role, the GCL CCPM and their team will work closely with our Engineering & Property Services (E&PS) function’s Engineering, Design & Project Delivery (E&PD) teams globally. E&PD teams lead the delivery of strategic capital projects and the CCPM team supports them as Procurement Functional / Business partners.

     

    Leading a team of 10 experienced Manager/Sr. Managers, the GCL CCPM will be accountable for between $1.0-1.5B in annual capital spend for J&J companies in the Innovative Medicines sector. The incumbent will:

     

    + Develop & shape category & spend performance strategies utilizing all available capabilities & tools (category strategy, market intelligence, advanced sourcing)

    + Provide procurement leadership to business partners; connect resources and partner capabilities for key capital, growth, and pharmaceutical asset projects

    + Lead or collaborate with project teams comprising internal functions (Engineering, QA, SCM, Finance, Legal) and external partners, to design & execute sourcing, supplier selection, and supplier relationship initiatives

    + Develop cost improvement / avoidance initiatives through category strategies, sourcing, SRM and innovation for pharmaceutical sector needs

    + Contribute to J&J’s commitment to sustainability and emissions reduction in pharmaceutical operations

    + Build strong & sustainable relationships with market leaders in construction, engineering, validation, and commissioning relevant to pharma sites

    + Shape & enhance competence and capabilities of the team

    + Build a highly competent and diverse team of talents to partner effectively with business partners

     

    The CCPM category belongs to the Capital, Construction and Facilities Services family of categories and reports to the Sr. Director, and CCFS Category family leader. CCFS is part of the Indirect Services Procurement (ISP) organization and part of J&J’s Enterprise Procurement Organization.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree (Business, Engineering, Science); MBA or other master’s preferred

    + 10+ years relevant professional experience

    + Exposure to MedTech and/or global markets is desirable

    + Strategic procurement, sourcing, category and supplier management experience in the supply chain environment

    + Experience working with technical, supply chain and functional partners

    + Strong business and finance acumen, and experience managing impact in complex matrix environment

    + Demonstrated team leadership, partnership, and cross-functional project capability

    + Ability to engage, interact, and negotiate enhanced value relationships with suppliers

    + Experience in a regulated, complex stakeholder environment; rich influencing skills

     

    Travel averages 20%, with periods of intensity

    The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

    $146,000-$251,850

    Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees and/or eligible dependents are eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
