Job Description
A large financial services organization is seeking a Jira Administrator to join the Engineering PMO team. This individual will need to have strong experience with Jira cloud; more specifically with tooling, administration, and implementation as the team aims to standardize the Jira tooling across all of the engineering organization. This role will focus on building, customizing, and optimizing Jira workflows, migrating to Jira, driving automation for project tracking, and enabling efficient delivery across IT, trading operations, and compliance initiatives. This role will also involve working with stakeholders to get them onboard in the tool, support, assist in administrative clean up, and overall contribute to the scalability of Jira when it comes to data, reporting, dashboarding, and tracking requests. The ideal candidate has experience in investment firms or financial services, where precision, compliance, and speed are critical.
Jira Administration & Customization
• Design, configure, and maintain Jira workflows, fields, dashboards, filters, and permissions.
• Implement and manage automation rules to streamline processes and reduce manual tasks.
• Integrate Jira with Confluence, GitHub, and financial operations tools.
Project Management & Delivery
• Collaboration with a variety of stakeholders and design/implement solutions based on their specific business needs within the tooling.
• Partner with technology and operations leaders to define project milestones, dependencies, and reporting.
• Ensure traceability of work items, aligning with compliance and audit requirements.
• Drive end-to-end automation projects, improving transparency and reducing operational risk.
Process Improvement
• Assess existing workflows across trading, settlements, and compliance to identify gaps.
• Recommend and implement automation solutions that enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
• Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on Jira best practices.

Skills and Requirements
• 3–5 years of experience as a Jira Administrator, Jira Specialist, or Atlassian Project Manager.
• Strong knowledge of Jira automation, workflows, and scripting tools (e.g., ScriptRunner, Automation for Jira).
• Experience in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid).
• Familiarity with investment firm operations (trading, settlements, compliance, risk management) strongly preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to translate business needs into Jira solutions.
• Strong communication skills; ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's Degree • Atlassian certifications (ACP-620, ACP-120, ACP-610) a plus
