    Job Description

    Day-to-Day Responsibilities

    • Ensure uptime for site utilities: pH neutralization, RODI systems, HVAC, chilled/hot water, compressed air/inert gases, vacuum, exhaust, and hydronic systems.

    • Troubleshoot issues using P&IDs, BMS data, field readings, and trend analysis.

    • Operate and maintain RODI systems: pretreatment, storage, circulation, sanitization, and monitoring.

    • Manage pH neutralization systems: probe calibration, chemical feeds, and effluent tracking.

    • Diagnose flow, pressure, temperature, and humidity issues across various components.

    • Maintain pumps and motors: alignment, seal/bearing replacement, vibration checks, and VFD setup.

    • Perform plumbing tasks: safe line breaks, valve rebuilds, pipe joining, and pressure testing.

    • Use BMS for trend analysis, point checks, sequence validation, and loop tuning.

    • Maintain CMMS records: work orders, equipment history, parts usage, and inventory.

    • Write and update SOPs/MOPs; train and mentor junior technicians.

    • Oversee contractors: scope work, manage permits, review reports, and requalify equipment.

    • Manage critical spares and inventory: set min/max levels, reconcile stock, and handle obsolescence.

    • Follow safety protocols: LOTO, hazard assessments, chemical handling, and clean/non-GMP area compliance.

     

    Compensation: $37/hr to $42/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one of employment, including options for medical, dental, and vision insurance. Eligibility to enroll in the 401(k) retirement plan begins after 90 days of employment. Additionally, employees in this role will have access to paid sick leave and other paid time off benefits as required under the applicable law of the worksite location.

    Skills and Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent (military training acceptable).

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in utility systems within a pharmaceutical or regulated environment.

    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. (Electrical & Mechanical)

    • Proficiency in maintaining cGMP records (paper and electronic).

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Physical stamina for manual labor.

    • In-depth knowledge of RODI, pH neutralization, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

    • HVAC/AHU expertise: air handling, lab exhaust, valves, coils, sensors, and VFD diagnostics.

    • Strong mechanical skills: pump/motor alignment, seal/bearing replacement, valve rebuilds, and pressure testing. • Technical certifications or vocational training.

    • MA Wastewater Operator license (Grade II or higher).

    • Boiler operator license.

    • OSHA-10/30 certification.
