Job Description

As an IT Configuration Management Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the configuration of software and hardware systems for the DoD. Responsibilities will include:

Manage Configuration Items (CIs): Identify, document, and control the configuration items in the IT environment.

Change Management: Oversee the process of change management to ensure that all changes are tracked and controlled.

Configuration Audits: Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with configuration management policies.

Documentation: Maintain detailed records of configurations, including versions, updates, and changes.

Collaboration: Work with other IT teams to ensure that configuration management processes are integrated with other IT service management processes.

Problem Resolution: Address and resolve issues related to configuration management.

Skills and Requirements

Active Secret security clearance

Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, or related field

3-5+ years of IT configuration management experience to include hardware/software configuration audits, inventory control, version control, data replication, media labeling, release notes, reports, etc.

Experience with the configuration change control process, the role of the Change Control Board, and change control documentation

Experience performing administrative, data management, and program management tasks

Cybersecurity background/experience

Experience working in an Agile environment
