Job Summary:
WMC Health’s Section of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery is seeking fellowship trained general surgeons with a specialization in trauma surgery and surgical critical care for our Level III Trauma Center at HAHV Hospital in Kingston, NY.We are an integrated consortium of 5 trauma centers within the Hudson Valley and home to the only Level 1 trauma center for adults and children in the entire Hudson Valley. A faculty appointment at NYMC commensurate with qualifications is available, as well as integration into the academic components of medical student/surgical resident/fellow education and research with rotations at our Level I and Level II trauma centers. The candidate will have ample opportunity to perform robotic and minimally invasive elective and emergency general surgery, in addition to caring for trauma patients and providing surgical critical care services.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Applicants must be board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Surgery in general surgery and/or surgical critical care. Requirements include demonstrated skills in emergency surgery, surgical critical care and, trauma patient care, and a record of teaching and research experience (health services, translational or basic science research).The Trauma Surgeon reports directly to the Chief of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery, and the Director of the Department of Surgery.Candidate requirements include an M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy, as well as the completion of a surgical residency and a surgical critical care fellowship.
