**BASIC PURPOSE** : Love’s rapidly growing internship program offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on, employee-level experience across multiple areas of the business. Interns develop skills and insights that extend beyond the classroom while learning the expectations and etiquette of a professional corporate environment. We are currently seeking an **Information Technology (IT) Intern** to join our Houston office. This role will provide exposure to a variety of projects and tasks that support the IT needs of **Musket** (Love’s energy trading arm) and **Love’s Alternative Energy** (Love’s clean energy division).

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Technology Services Infrastructure support –including data engineering and analytics, application development, etc. for energy trading and alternative energy

+ Project Management support, including Business Analysis and other related duties for energy trading and alternative energy

+ Technical research and application, specifically AI focused for energy trading and alternative energy

+ Other duties assigned as needed.

Internship Activities:** **Over the course of the summer, Love’s interns also have the opportunity to participate in the following:

+ Q&A sessions with executives

+ Community volunteering activities

+ Social/Networking events

+ Classroom skills-based training

+ Structured performance feedback

+ Formal presentation to leadership

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:

+ HS Diploma or equivalent required

+ **Currently enrolled in four year university program,** a sophomore level or above (pursing a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS or related degree); concentrations in AI are strongly preferred. Degree programs combining Business related (e.g. Finance, Economics, etc.) and Technical or Quantitative related studies (e.g. MIS, Computer science, Statistics, etc.) are also preferred.

Experience:

+ Past internship experience supporting technical solutions in energy trading or a related industry is a plus

+ Experience working with AI solutions is a plus

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Skills:

+ Hard Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft office and general computer knowledge

+ Soft Skills: Keen attention to detail, strong oral and verbal communication skills, organization skills, and team player

Typical Physical Demands:

+ Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.

+ Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

+ Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.

+ Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
