All while understanding that **together** we are even better. **Schedule:** Full TimeShift: Monday Friday 7:00am 5:00pm, hours may vary **Location:** **Will be placed at one of our 12 Primary Care Clinic locations in Johnson, Miami, and Douglas Counties.** **The role you'll contribute:** In partnership with Park University AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is offering a Medical Assistant training program to earn your Medical Assistant education while working as an AdventHealth Shawnee Mission Medical Group team member. The team member will attend a 14-week education program in partnership with Park University. The team member will build clinical skills within our practices through clinical rotations. Once the program is complete you will be a Certified Medical Assistant with AdventHealth Shawnee Mission. The Uncertified Medical Assistant - under close supervision, provides appropriate care to patients as well as follows AdventHealth service standards. This includes safely and effectively greeting patients, obtaining clinical information, financial and demographic information. Responsible for assisting providers during treatment and examination and may assist with procedures and medication administration as ordered by the provider upon successful completion of necessary competencies. Performs office duties as needed, which includes but is not limited to, verifying insurance, collecting co-pays and scheduling necessary appointments. **The value you'll bring to the team:**
+ Assist with screenings per physician orders and enters all information accurately and at the time of service or results.
+ May be responsible for assisting with minor procedures associated with specialty care.
+ May be required to travel to satellite offices.
+ Ability to function and assist others in stressful, fast-paced environments and effectively apply stress management techniques.
+ Experience with computers, telephone, fax machine, copier, stethoscope, EKG machine, pulse oximeter, oxygen devices, wheelchairs, stretchers, scales, glucose monitor, and other patient care equipment necessary to perform required duties as appropriate to the scope of the practice.

+ **The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed** **:** **Minimum qualifications** :
+ High school graduate or equivalent.
+ Must apply for Medical Assistant (MA) certification 12-14 months after hire.
+ Must obtain Medical Assistant (MA) certification no later than 18 months after hire.
+ BLS/CPR certification is required.
+ 1 years of health care experience in the last 3 year, Preferred.
