The role you will contribute:
Responsible for coordinating the activities of the Medical Record Forms Committee and serving as a liaison between the committee, clinical areas, and the printing department. This position creates and maintains a forms library, coordinates the annual review process for clinical forms, and collaborates with AIT to manage document hierarchy and barcodes for accurate electronic medical records (EMR). Additionally, this role validates the quality of work within the Health Information Management (HIM) department by reviewing random and target samples and reporting results to management. In addition, this position supports departmental education needs by conducting compliance initiatives, employee training, developing training materials, hosting orientations, and serving as a program preceptor for accredited HIM educational schools. Ensures effective communication of standards and maintains extensive knowledge of quality performance areas.

Communicates new forms, form placement within EMR, form changes, upgrades, and pertinent information to relevant stakeholders.
Researches unrecognized forms and resolves data integrity issues.
Assists HIM staff in building their knowledge base of clinical form locations in the EMR.
Reviews policies and procedures regarding forms design and maintenance.
Performs timely quality reviews on HIM team members and reports results to management.
Supports departmental education needs by conducting compliance initiatives, employee training, developing training materials, hosting orientations, and serving as a program preceptor.
Serves as a resource to other departments in Revenue Cycle to ensure business continuity and optimal revenue cycle management.
Coordinates meeting activities, including scheduling, agendas, documentation, approval forms, and meeting minutes.
Serves as a liaison between clinical areas and the printing department/vendor for the destruction of retired forms.
Manages the creation, maintenance, and annual review process of the forms library.
Collaborates with AIT to manage document hierarchy, standardization, and barcoding for accurate electronic medical records (EMR).

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
Associates of Science Degree with Emphasis in Health Information Technology
Expansive knowledge of medical group processing, release of information, customer service center, regulatory, document imaging, chart reconciliation, transition of care, chart analysis, chart completion and medical transcription clerical processes
Thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements and HIPAA
Ability to communicate effectively with employees and leaders to ensure appropriate documentation integrity
Computer skills to include Microsoft Office, Access databases, Adobe software and the ability to manage permanent clinical forms database
Self-motivated and ability to work independently
Critical thinking, flexibility and problem-solving skills
Thorough knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR)
Effective and professional oral and written communication skills
Initiative and good judgment in planning, with the ability to make effective recommendations
Maintain the confidentiality of employees, patients, administrative staff and functions, and medical staff information with no infractions
Ability to use critical thinking and sound judgement in decision making
Preferred Qualifications:
1 of experience in supporting an acute care and integrated health setting
Previous Health Information Management or Revenue Management experience
Microsoft Excel and Access proficiency
Leadership skills
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) OR
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
