Job Summary
Direct/Manage/Supervise component purchasing specialists and procurement specialists. Develop and implement business plans, policies, and procedures. Collaborate with other departments to prioritize procurement needs. Evaluate results within units to determine if university objectives are being met. Analyze and resolve procurement issues such as budget impact, investigation of supply sources, proposals, bids, etc. May act as first point of contact for outside vendors in the absence of a dedicated Vendor Relations specialist. Second-level director. Lead the work of functional area(s) through subordinate directors. Assist executives in defining university goals and strategic plans. Expert knowledge with comprehensive understanding of the university and functional area(s). Analyze and resolve procurement issues such as budget impact, investigation of supply sources, proposals, bids, etc. May act as first point of contact for outside vendors in the absence of a dedicated Vendor Relations specialist. Second-level director. Leads the work of functional area(s) through subordinate directors. Assists executives in defining organizational goals and strategic plans. Expert business knowledge with comprehensive understanding of the organization and functional area(s).
Minimum Qualifications
**EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT :** 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 14 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 12 years of directly related work experience.
