Bilingual Department Assistant – Keep Operations Moving and Teams Connected
**Location:** Essexville, MI
**Pay Range:** $19–$21/hour
**Hours:** Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM (Must be able to work 5/10 schedule and occasional weekends as needed)
**Position Type:** Full-Time, Contract
PDS Tech Commercial is hiring a **Bilingual Department Assistant (Spanish/English)** to support a large-scale construction project in Essexville, MI. In this pivotal role, you’ll be the driving force behind smooth daily operations—bridging communication between management and field teams, ensuring critical administrative tasks are handled efficiently, and keeping the project running seamlessly.
This position offers the chance to be part of a major construction effort, working on-site in a field office trailer. You’ll thrive if you’re detail-oriented, resourceful, and comfortable balancing office responsibilities in a dynamic field environment.
What You’ll Do
You’ll provide vital administrative and bilingual support to project leadership and field employees. A typical day includes:
+ Managing time entry for field craft payroll and verifying jobsite badge data.
+ Processing correction paychecks and maintaining time-tracking logs.
+ Entering apprentice information and assisting with new hire documentation.
+ Supporting document control processes and maintaining organized records.
+ Handling deliveries, office supply management, and general administrative tasks.
+ Assisting with orientations for Spanish-speaking employees, including translating paperwork and helping with day-to-day communication.
+ Setting up and coordinating meetings, trainings, and project events.
What You’ll Bring
Required Qualifications:
+ Fluent in both **Spanish and English** (written and verbal).
+ High school diploma or GED equivalent.
+ Minimum 2 years of experience in an administrative or coordination role—construction or field environment preferred.
+ Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
+ Reliable vehicle capable of driving on gravel roads to access the worksite (MVR check required).
+ Ability to work full-time on-site and wear required **work boots** for jobsite safety.
Preferred:
+ Experience with Oracle or similar database systems.
+ Prior experience supporting field operations or construction teams.

**Pay Details:** $19.00 to $21.00 per hour
