Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Purpose: To administer the calibration program according to quality standards. To be a permanent member of the APQP team and to research costs and purchase all inspection tooling and gauging. Qualify product, monitor the manufacturing process and prevent non-conforming product from being inadvertently sold, installed or shipped.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
+ Ensure a safe work environment for self and others. Follow all safety rules and regulations. Demonstrate commitment to safety program.
+ Repairs and calibrates all items as scheduled
+ Reviews production schedule to ensure tooling is ready for use
+ Maintains Calibration data base to include all gauging
+ Maintains Calibration tooling boxes in good order
+ May works with other departments, such as Quality, Process engineers, and ME's in developing gages and tooling for new projects
+ May maintain Inspection/Calibration Equipment as needed
+ May provides Inspection/Calibration support to all activities (PPAP, GR&R, SPC)
+ May Order all Inspection/Calibration related tooling and materials and track order status
+ May assist in maintaining Inspection Department Records and files
+ May perform 1st Article Inspections and documentation
+ May perform In-process Inspections and documentation
+ Assists employees with inspection related problems
+ May coordinate Zeiss maintenance support
+ May develop, troubleshoot and run Zeiss programs for measurement of gages, prototype and production parts
+ Accurately complete reports and all necessary paper work for the jobs
+ Utilizes the 5-S principles (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain) to maintain an orderly, clean and safe work area.
+ Actively participates in CIP events to improve the safety, quality, and efficiencies of our current processes and procedures
+ Support and positively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
+ Communicates with supervisor and co-workers in a professional manner
+ Promote a positive atmosphere. Actively support activities that promote the welfare and morale of TEAM employees.
+ Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Education & Experience:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ One to two years in a manufacturing environment with a minimum of 6 months in an inspection role using gaging and other applicable measurement equipment
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
+ Ability to vary working hours to meet calibration/inspection requirements
+ Ability to work with small lettering on prints, intricate tooling, and computer monitors for extended periods
+ Ability to work efficiently and effectively to complete assigned tasks on time
+ Regular attendance
Training:
+ OJT for Calibration Tech
Physical Demands
+ Ability to sit, stand or walk for 100% of the workday
+ Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 30 lbs, occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs, ad rarely lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
+ Ability to do repetitive movements (i.e. bending, twisting, walking)
