Required Skills:
Data Engineer, Legal Responsibilities:
1. Independently design, build and launch new data extraction, transformation and loading processes in production.
2. Mentor others and introduce the team to novel methods, efficient queries, programming tools.
3. Collaborate with a variety of technical and nontechnical stakeholders (including attorneys, engineers, and data scientists) to understand and identify data needs, understand business problems and implement and maintain any logging required.
4. Work with colleagues in data infrastructure to triage and resolve issues and maintain integrity of data pipelines.
5. Keep stakeholders informed of progress and resolution on key issues.
6. Build data expertise and leverage data controls to ensure privacy, security, compliance, data quality, and operations for allocated areas of ownership.
7. Advance Data Engineering best practices within the team.
8. Share and contribute to development of documentation, protocols and procedures, training guides, workflows, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:

9. Requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field and 12 months of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation
10. Requires 12 months of experience involving the following:
11. Data engineering
12. SQL, ETL, data modeling, and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++, C#, Scala, etc.)
13. Distributed computing (Hive/Hadoop)
14. Using version control systems (e.g. Git/Mercurial)
15. Initiating and driving projects to completion with minimal guidance
16. Conceptualizing and owning the data architecture for multiple large-scale projects while evaluating design and operational cost-benefit tradeoffs within systems
17. Owning existing processes running in production, and optimizing complex code through advanced algorithmic concepts
18. Working with PB scale data
19. and Working cross-functionally and communicating technical content to general audiences
Public Compensation:
$135,142/year to $168,520/year + bonus + equity + benefits
