Job Summary
Step into a fast-paced role within Caterpillar’s Electric Power Division, where you’ll help keep production moving by managing material flow and supporting supply chain operations. As a **Supply Chain Planning Analyst** , you’ll work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely deliveries, resolve issues, and contribute to continuous improvement in one of Caterpillar’s most dynamic business units.
What You Will Do:
+ Manage purchase orders and ensure accurate pricing, quantities, and delivery dates.
+ Coordinate with suppliers to secure timely delivery of materials for production.
+ Track open orders and expedite shipments to meet project deadlines.
+ Partner with internal teams (operations, logistics, engineering, project management) to align material flow with production needs.
+ Maintain accurate data across ERP systems and resolve order discrepancies.
+ Build strong supplier relationships through clear communication and follow-up.
+ Support outsourcing activities, including blanket POs and vendor-managed inventory.
+ Use Excel, ERP, and Power BI tools to monitor supply chain performance and identify improvement opportunities.
+ Assist with supplier selection and pricing for customer proposals.
+ Contribute to system maintenance and continuous improvement projects.
+ Take on additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
Degree Requirement
Degree in supply chain, business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

+ **Supply Chain Management - MFG:** Working knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use, strategies, practices and tools for controlling the logistical processes.
+ Discusses considerations for integrating partner and supplier transactions.
+ Recognizes software systems or components used to manage supply chain.
+ Summarizes supply chain considerations for different types of products or components.
+ Participates in supply chain analysis and uses it to spot trends and improvement opportunities.
+ Works with a specific part of supply chain management process.
+ **Analytical Thinking:** Working knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
+ Approaches a situation or problem by defining the problem or issue and determining its significance.
+ Makes a systematic comparison of two or more alternative solutions.
+ Uses flow charts, Pareto charts, fish diagrams, etc. to disclose meaningful data patterns.
+ Identifies the major forces, events and people impacting and impacted by the situation at hand.
+ Uses logic and intuition to make inferences about the meaning of the data and arrive at conclusions.
+ **Problem Solving:** Working knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
+ Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives.
+ Examines a specific problem and understands the perspective of each involved stakeholder.
+ Develops alternative techniques for assessing accuracy and relevance of information.
+ Helps to analyze risks and benefits of alternative approaches and obtain decision on resolution.
+ Uses fact-finding techniques and diagnostic tools to identify problems.
+ **Business Process Improvement:** Working knowledge of business process improvement best practices and ability to use methods for identifying, evaluating, introducing and implementing more efficient approaches to performing business related activities.
+ Gathers data for use in the analysis of business processes.
+ Illustrates problems, opportunities and methods for improving existing business processes.
+ Suggests ways to reduce variation and/or waste in processes.
+ Helps evaluate what factors should be addressed in the change program.
+ Participates in requirements analysis for process changes.
+ **Procurement:** Working knowledge of buying and procurement; ability to work with organizational strategies and practices, and use tools for buying goods, supplies, equipment and services needed to conduct business.
+ Works with the procurement of services, materials or equipment.
+ Follows established procedures, documentation requirements and approval level requests to conduct procurement activities.
+ Interprets benefits, issues and considerations of using e-procurement.
+ Uses available procurement systems and tools in transactions with approved suppliers.
+ Assists in reviewing the fulfillment of administrative and documentation requirements for the completion of purchase.
+ **Project Management:** Working knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
+ Provides input for Gantt or PERT charts or their equivalent to track project progress and status.
+ Under guidance, plans and estimates simple projects.
+ Assists in detailed project plans including cost, schedule, and resource requirements.
+ Obtains information from stakeholders during the planning stage of a project.
+ Produces standard project status reports.
Additional Requirements:
+ Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
+ Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and collaborating across departments
+ Ability to interpret data and present insights clearly to support decision-making
+ Experience using ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and tools like Excel and Power BI
+ Willingness to speak up and drive process improvements or escalate issues when needed
+ Clear and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
+ High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy

Additional Information
+ This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
+ Travel up to ~5% is possible

Summary Pay Range:
$79,800.00 - $119,760.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
