MMCAP is a national cooperative group purchasing organization (GPO) for government healthcare facilities. MMCAP was established in 1985 and has over 30,000 member facilities across all 50 states. MMCAP's primary function is to provide a full range of pharmaceuticals to its participating facilities. It also has contracts for vials and containers, medical supplies, drug testing, returned goods processing, influenza vaccine, dental products and services, and dozens of other lines of business.
MMCAP is operated within the State of Minnesota, Office of State Procurement (OSP). The mission of MMCAP is to ensure best value for pharmaceuticals and healthcare products and services to government facilities across the nation through executing contracts that leverage aggregated member volume to driver deeper discounts. We are seeking a Research and Reporting Analyst to provide analytical support of data used by MMCAP. This is a unique position combining research, data analytics, and reporting skills on a wide variety of pharmaceutical, healthcare products and services, distributor, and Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) issues. As a technical expert in in-depth data analysis, you will spend a majority of time preparing and tracking standard scheduled reports; preparing ad hoc reports using a variety of databases and analytic processes; and creating analytic price comparisons for MMCAP staff, participating facilities, and MMCAP vendors. You will determine methodologies and make recommendations for major reports, which may have statewide and/or national impact, and you may also do RFP price evaluations. Serving as an expert resource, you will provide technical advice and assistance to team members, which includes creating procedures and documentation.
This position is eligible for up to a 50% hybrid telework arrangement. With a telework arrangement, additional onsite attendance may be required for team meetings or as requested by management to meet business needs. Completion of a telework agreement will be required. Minimum Qualifications
The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position. Only applicants whose application materials clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for the position.
+ Two (2) years of experience navigating complex data flows, including the retrieval, manipulation, and delivery from multiple disparate sources into a business-friendly output of information.
+ Skill in designing, writing, and testing data queries with demonstrated ability to extract and manipulate data, create reports, interpret large complex datasets, identify, and communicate inconsistencies or actionable solutions
+ Ability to determine reliable sources to complete research projects on a variety of topics related to the Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) industry.
+ Ability to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences with varying degrees of technical understanding.
+ Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel sufficient to extract and manipulate data and create reports.
+ Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Windows operating system, web browsers, and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
+ Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated attention to details.
Preferred Qualifications
+ An Associate's degree or higher in computer science/management, information science, business, economics, finance, or mathematics.
+ Experience working in the healthcare or pharmaceutical field.
+ Knowledge of laws surrounding GPOs.
+ Knowledge of price negotiations in GPOs.
+ Experience using Crystal Reports.
+ Experience using Tableau Desktop.
+ Experience with state procurement/contracting processes, statutes, and policies.
