This position works out of the BCA's Bemidji Regional Office. The Trainer/Auditor position performs analysis of training needs, the development and delivery of technical information systems training related to the Minnesota Justice Information Systems (MNJIS) and National Crime Information Center (NCIC) on a statewide basis to criminal justice agencies and community stakeholders, conducts MNJIS and NCIC compliance audits of criminal justice and non-criminal justice agencies as required by state statute, rule and/or policies to assure that the criminal justice and non-criminal justice agencies are utilizing federal and state criminal justice information systems appropriately, and to perform other related activities. The position reviews and revises training materials and audit procedures to meet evolving Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and MNJIS standards for appropriate use of the MNJIS and NCIC systems. The position will act as a mentor to intermediate staff with classroom training and audits to ensure compliance with FBI and BCA policy, State and Federal regulations, agency agreements and state and federal law related to use and access of NCIC Hot Files, BCA MNJIS Hot Files, Interstate Identifications Index (III), BCA Criminal History System (CHS), Law Enforcement Incident Search (LEIS), National Data Exchange (N-DEx) and other data sources accessed through the Law Enforcement Message Switch (LEMS).
This position is eligible to telework up to two days per week at supervisory discretion.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of work experience in a criminal justice field
OR
Two (2) years of work experience in a criminal justice field
Work experience must include the following:
+ Use of NCIC and MNJIS Hot Files, and Interstate Identification Index
+ Conducting training for adult learners in criminal justice agencies
+ Proficient skills and experience with Microsoft Office and presentation software
+ Working knowledge of criminal justice partner interrelationships
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to effectively facilitate classroom curriculum with active learning methods and engage students.
Ability to effectively speak in a variety of public settings.
Ability to perform as a collaborative team member on projects, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
More than three (3) years of experience working in a criminal justice agency.
CJDN Operator certification.
Ability to read and comprehend public administration texts, federal rules, state statues, manuals, and other documents and correspondence to sufficiently interpret, revise, and draft comprehensive reports, procedures, correspondence and training communicating complex information in easy to understand terms.
Ability to adapt to organizational and program changes, constructively work under pressure, and effectively cope with ambiguity and setbacks.
Physical Requirements
Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others and moving and transporting light objects frequently. Even though the weights being moved and transported may be a negligible amount, a job in this category may require positioning self to move to a significant degree or may involve maintaining a stationary position for extended periods.
