    Requirements / Qualifications

     

    Basic Functions: Organizes and instructs students in reading and/or language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, health, physical education, art, music and other assigned areas of the curriculum, utilizing the course of study adopted by the Board of Trustees. Promotes close working relationships with staff, students and parents. Teacher is under the direct supervision of the site principal or designee. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Education Required: • Bachelor’s Degree • Valid California Math Teaching Credential or Authorization in Math • EL Authorization or equivalent • In lieu of a Math teaching credential, the district will assist you in applying for a Teaching Permit for Statutory Leave (TPSL) through CTC in Math if you meet the following: - A degree major in the subject area or at least 18 semester units, or 9 upper division semester units, of course work in the subject to be listed on the permit. - Please include all transcripts including community college, bachelor's and any post-baccalaureate transcripts. Experience: • One year of successful teaching experience in an education setting is preferred.
