Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Dateline NBC is seeking a creative Associate Producer to produce and grow engaging digital content across platforms.
Responsibilities:
+ Produce and edit digital content that accompanies the broadcast
+ Produce digital-only content, including editing videos and writing articles for Dateline’s existing digital series, such as Missing in America and Cold Case Spotlight
+ Pitch standalone content to the Digital team to help widen Dateline’s digital footprint
+ Occasionally write breaking news articles for NBCNews.com that fall under Dateline’s subject matter
+ Build audience and grow engagement by creating socially-savvy content for Dateline’s social media accounts, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok.
+ Learn and execute Dateline’s voice seamlessly across all social platforms
+ Interact live with followers from the Dateline social media account episodes while the show is on the air on the East Coast
+ Work with story teams and correspondents to drive audience from social platforms to the broadcast
+ Collaborate with sales, analytics, marketing, product and press teams to optimize Dateline campaigns and content on social platforms
+ Input metadata for upcoming broadcasts
+ Cut and archive digital library of Dateline full episodes and keep running list of aired episodes and content restrictions.
+ Create weekly newsletter previewing broadcast and other Dateline-related content.
+ Assist in planning Dateline events and planning/executing social media coverage of those events
PLEASE NOTE: This is a short-term position with an estimated duration of 24 months or less, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.
+ 1+ years of newsroom and reporting experience
+ Bachelor's degree in a related field
+ Knowledge of Avid, WildMoka, Premiere, and MPX systems
+ Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
+ Ability to research and interview multiple subjects and write articles under tight deadlines
+ Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
+ Working knowledge of CMS systems
+ Experience working with podcasts: promotion, editing, etc.
Desired Characteristics:
+ Interest in criminal justice/legal system
+ Video editing experience
Additional Requirements:
+ Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
What we’ll offer: Production Employee (PEP) Regular who works more than 1,000 hours per measurement period:
+ Eligible for 401K after 1,000 hours worked in 12 consecutive months
+ Eligible for Health and Welfare benefits on 1st day of employment
+ Eligible to participate in Employee Stock Purchase Program after 90 days of employment
Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000.
