    What you'll do...

     

    As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for designing & delivering next-generation Data Center Network for Walmart. This role will combine deep technical expertise, Innovation, coding proficiency & organizational influence to make sure infrastructure that is built scales reliably & is cost-effective. You will collaborate closely with multiple teams such as Network Architecture, Global WAN, Edge Networks, and most importantly across the whole of the network engineering and operations team.     About Team:

    Building the right technology foundation for Infrastructure & platforms is vital to success at the scale of Walmart. Our team builds and maintains the foundational technologies that support the tech organization. Included in this are data platforms, enterprise architecture, DevOps, cloud computing, and infrastructure. All of these products and services are supported by scalable and powerful infrastructure, ensuring a secure and seamless employee and customer experience across stores, digital channels, and distribution centers.

    What you'll do:

    + Own end-to-end design of large-scale highly available & reliable Network for Data Centers.

    + Define long-term Architectural roadmaps.

    + Evaluate & Introduce Emerging technologies (Evaluating, adopting & Operationalizing disaggregated network technologies).

    + Lead cross-organizational projects.

    + Standardize design patterns & enforce best practices.

    + Define standards to improve MTTR (Mean time to Recovery).

    + Drive Network Automation strategy.

    + Mentor and lead a team of network engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.

    + Communicate strategy & progress to VP's, Directors & all stakeholders.

    + Document architectural decisions, design patterns, policies, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing across the broader organization

    What you'll bring:

    + 8+ years of experience in network architecture, network engineering, and network operations.

    + Strong expertise in Network Architecture & Protocols: Leaf-spine data center design, BGP, VXLAN/EVPN, IS-IS/OSPF.

    + Cloud Networking: VPC, Multi-cloud Interconnects, Transit Gateways.

    + Experience in Data Engineering: Developing Dashboards & alerting systems for proactive monitoring. Design framework for enriching & correlating diverse datasets.

    + Experience with network automation using Python, Ansible, or equivalent scripting languages.

    + Experience with network modeling and data modeling techniques.

    + Strong skills in both verbal and written communications, equally adapt in communicating in all directions.

    + Strong system architecture, problem solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.

    + Proven experience with project delivery for large, mission-critical, cross-functional projects.

    + Advanced certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent is a plus.

    Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities.     Minimum Qualifications...
