Job Summary:
As a Senior Finance Manager Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the design, development, and delivery of assigned financial domains. Provide consultation, strategic insight, and recommendations on Workday, Cora and SUS financial system processes. This role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of solutions, from concept to delivery, and ensuring that financial processes align with company standards and regulatory requirements, including compliance with government standards (e.g., SOX). The Senior Finance Manager Domain Architect will identify process gaps, and drive integration testing, standardization, and functional validation before rollout.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Business Strategy:
+ Focus on strategic assessment and establishment of financial processes and standards for the assigned financial domain, collaborating with business and senior stakeholders.
+ Guide and deliver solutions–that meet business requirements, prove the feasibility of the design/process that can be ultimately implemented and supported in Production environment at scale.
+ Leverage deep expertise in the financial domain to translate business strategies and requirements into solutions for Sysco’s various business units (Corp, SBS, OpCo).
Testing and Design Reviews
+ Participate and provide oversight in design session reviews across various phases of the process, ensuring alignment with business and government financial standards.
+ Identify gaps during testing and drive solutions deployment and testing.
+ Take leadership in sprints
Process Documentation
+ Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation for the entire financial system lifecycle.
+ Define and enforce financial standards, procedures, metrics, and policies to ensure consistency and best practices across business units.
Support and Training:
+ Provide coaching and training to both key internal and external stakeholders to enhance their understanding of financial systems and processes.
+ Serve as the technical owner and primary point of contact for domain-specific solutions, strengthening collaboration across business units.
+ Oversee and assist with transition readiness, go-live activities, and stabilization efforts after delivery of new service delivery models.
Leadership and Influence:
+ Support leadership by mentoring cross-functional teams, guiding them to deliver results that meet both business and technical objectives.
+ Build collaborative relationships with senior leaders across the organization to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
+ Contribute to the broader financial systems strategy and innovation by providing deeper expertise and knowledge to facilitate decision-making.
Education Required:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent higher education in a Finance-related field
Education Preferred:
Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, CPA) preferred
Experience Required:
+ **8+ years of progressive, related experience** in financial systems (e.g. Workday) design, development, and delivery.
+ **3+ years of leadership-related experience** , including managing teams, projects, or processes, and demonstrating expertise in financial domain leadership.
Experience Preferred:
+ **10+ years of progressive, related experience** in financial systems (e.g. Workday) design, development, and delivery.
+ **5+ years of leadership-related experience** , including managing teams, projects, or processes, and demonstrating expertise in financial domain leadership.
Licenses/Certifications Preferred:
Workday Pro Certification
Skills and Abilities:
+ Ability to **create strategic solutions** and influence senior business stakeholders to drive results at the organizational level.
+ Advanced problem-solving, team-building, and total quality management skills in complex environments.
+ Ability to apply a variety of policies, procedures, and precedents to make effective decisions,
+ Ability to resolve complex issues that impact business performance.
+ Project management skills with ability to monitor and control schedules with timely delivery and within scope.
+ Ability to collaborate and work across functions within Sysco, as well as with external Global Process Owners (GPOs).
+ Expert Microsoft Office and specialized accounting/finance software, including ERP Systems (e.g., Workday).
+ Ability to lead and innovate in financial systems and processes.
