The Senior Manager, Local Sales Sustainability Strategy will play a pivotal role in driving large-scale activation of sustainability programs throughout Local Sales teams, serving as the public face of Sustainability, and fostering organizational engagement to keep sustainability at the forefront of business and customer interactions. This position integrates feedback and insights from the field to guide technology and merchandising upgrades that enhance the customer journey, while collaborating closely with sales leaders and field teams to promote adoption of environmentally preferable products and grow volume and revenue of One Planet One Table, sustainably certified, locally sourced, and emerging supplier products.
In addition, the Senior Manager is responsible for managing relationships with key stakeholders such as ATC and other partners, ensuring alignment and measurable progress toward sustainability goals. The role champions continuous improvement and innovation in sustainability processes, translating complex concepts into actionable strategies and results. The ideal candidate is agile and resourceful, with proven expertise in sustainability and sales enablement, capable of fostering engagement among field teams and delivering tangible business and environmental outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities
Local Sales Alignment and Collaboration
+ Own and execute the strategy to drive large-scale activation of sustainability strategies across Local Sales, ensuring consistent execution and measurable impact in all regions.
+ Manage the relationship with ATC and potentially other key stakeholders, ensuring alignment and progress toward sustainability goals.
+ Provide guidance and feedback to merchandising teams on the customer journey, including SHOP, and technology teams to prioritize upgrades that enhance sustainability outcomes.
+ Partner with field sales teams to identify opportunities for sustainable product adoption, provide training on sustainability best practices, develop marketing materials to support regional sales growth, and facilitate customer education around Sysco’s One Planet One Table offering
Local Sourcing Attribution Acceleration
+ Collect and analyze locally sourced data from Sysco sites to grow sales of locally grown/made items.
+ Collaborate with Local Sales teams to develop promotional materials and processes that drive sales growth of locally grown/made products, driving adoption of regionally sourced offerings.
Sustainable Product Portfolio Support
+ Work with merchandising and supply chain teams to expand the availability and visibility of sustainable products in local markets. Support accurate product attribution and effective pricing, tailored to diverse customer needs.
Supplier & Customer Engagement
+ Cultivate relationships with local suppliers to further sustainability goals and ensure alignment with Sysco’s standards. Support field teams in communicating sustainability value propositions to customers.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
+ Establish processes for tracking local sustainability initiatives, analyzing impact, and reporting results to leadership. Ensure ongoing program improvement through feedback, data-driven insights, and cross-functional collaboration.
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or related field such as a culinary arts degree
Experience:
+ 5+ years’ experience in food sustainability, foodservice sales enablement, or related roles
+ Experience driving sustainability initiatives within sales or customer-facing environments.
+ Strong understanding of sustainability certifications, local sourcing, and supplier engagement best practices
+ Experience and understanding of creating scaled digital systems, PowerPoint, Excel
+ Sysco Field Sales experience preferred
