• Repack Associate

    Sysco (Des Plaines, IL)


    JOB SUMMARY:

    This is a finance position that is responsible for salvaging, recouping and repacking products.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Assess and sort all damaged products for recouping.

    + Collaborate directly with warehouse management to control shrink.

    + Cooperate indirectly with merchandising to ensure proper packaging from vendors.

    + Assist with developing a reconciliation program.

    + Work with inventory control to assist in reducing company shrink.

    + Keep the area clean and neat at all times.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education

    + High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) or equivalent preferred.

    Experience

    + 1-3 months of related warehouse distribution experience preferred.

    Requirements

    + 18+ years of age

    + Submit to pre-employment testing (Drug Screen, Background Check).

    Professional Skills

    + Able to read, write and communicate effectively, as it relates to the job and the safety regulations.

    + Can read a limited number of two and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.

    + Able to print and speak simple sentences.

    + Strong mathematical skills.

    + Computer skills.

    + Capable of applying common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

    + Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    + Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

    + Must regularly lift and/or move 20-40 pounds, and occasionally lift 50-80 pounds.

    + Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
