What You'll Do
We’re looking for a Business Development & Strategy Director join our Strategy and Innovation team. In this role, you'll provide strategic counsel and partnership to senior business unit leaders in the areas of strategy execution, business development, M&A, and investor communications. You’ll also lead efforts to identify and evaluate new growth opportunities, including partnerships, acquisitions, and integrations while supporting strategic initiatives that drive business performance and long-term value creation. The position also plays a key role in developing and aligning investor and leadership communications to articulate business strategy, financial performance, and market positioning. You’ll partner closely with senior leaders to translate strategic concepts into actionable plans that advance both business unit and enterprise goals.
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders across business units and corporate functions. Identify, assess, and execute strategic growth opportunities, including developing and nurturing relationships with external entities that create long-term revenue opportunities for the business **.**
+ Lead and contribute to business development and M&A activities, including strategic assessments, financial and market analysis, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration planning.
+ Partner with strategy and finance teams to evaluate competitive positioning, emerging trends, and strategic initiatives that enhance business performance and support long-term growth.
+ Develop and direct innovative strategic projects that drive future business expansion and operational effectiveness across the organization.
+ Support investor communication efforts by preparing strategic content, materials, and insights that convey business priorities, performance, and market opportunities to investors, analysts, and other key stakeholders.
+ Collaborate across functions—including marketing, sales, finance, legal, and IT—to ensure alignment and effective execution of strategic priorities.
+ Work closely with senior business unit leadership to convert high-level strategy into executable plans, measurable outcomes, and sustainable growth initiatives.

Who You Are
+ Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of related work experience
+ Must have strong problem solving, critical thinking, leadership, and analytical skills
+ Ability to think creatively and propose innovative solutions
+ Good oral and written communication skills required
+ Must have good interpersonal, customer service, negotiation, and organizational skills
+ Demonstrates the ability to accept and adapt to a changing environment
+ Willingness to take on new challenges and adapt to changing priorities and business needs
+ High level of motivation and a proactive approach to learning and professional development
+ Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
+ Team player with positive attitude and strong work ethic
+ Strong financial acumen with the ability to balance and integrate qualitative and quantitative data to support strategic decision-making
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment for long hours as required
+ Broad knowledge of financial services industry and skilled in conducting market analysis, competitor benchmarking, and industry trend identification
+ Ability to self-direct, analyze, evaluate, and form independent judgments
+ Ability to effectively interact and build relationships with senior management and global stakeholders
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$153000 - $207000 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

This role offers an in-office and hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek) work arrangement in Des Moines, IA.
