What you Will Do:

The Real-Time Embedded Systems discipline within CDS is responsible for the foundational software layer that abstracts the hardware and manages the resources for engine control and prognostic and health management applications for P&W.  The specific applications for this position are small military engines such as auxiliary power units and missile turbo-jets. The Real-Time Embedded Systems discipline has an opening for an engineer with strong technical and leadership skills and demonstrated capability in the following areas:

+ Solid experience with C/C++ in an embedded development environment.  Understanding software build processes, multiple compiler and linker configurations, library linking.

+ Ability to utilize software debugger tools to aid in analysis and debugging of embedded software.

+ Familiar with usage of electronic diagnostic equipment (oscilloscopes, programmable function generators, multimeters, etc.) and troubleshooting in a lab or test cell environment

+ Understanding of formal software development processes (DO-178B/C). Usage of Configuration Management tools.

+ Proven experience in control system software architecture, requirements, and design

Job responsibilities:

+ Support the Embedded Software team to meet program deliverables

+ Lead the software development effort for APUs and TJs

+ Present as needed to the Component Integration Product Team Leader (CIPTL)

+ Work with the technical team to resolve software defects and champion root cause investigations

+ Support technical, schedule, cost discussions with the CIPTL

+ Identify key process improvements to increase efficiency

Qualifications You Must Have** **:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)

+ 5 yearsof Gas Turbine Aero Engine Control System design & hardware/software integration experienceor 3 years with an advanced degree

+ U.S. Person/Green Card holder

Qualifications We Prefer** **:

+ Experience with Xilinx Vitis Unified Development Environment is a plus

+ Experience with Texas Instruments Code Composer 3.3 & 7.4 is a plus

+ Background with National **Instruments** LabView is a plus.

+ Experience with model based design (Cameo/SysML)

+ Experience with Matlab/Simulink

+ Experienced and comfortable with developing technical presentations

+ Must demonstrate reliability, initiative, and desire to learn

+ Experience with product security for embedded targets, a plus

Engine Design & Systems Integration (EDSI)

EDSI Commercial Engines Programs (CE) and Military Engines Programs (ME)

The EDSI Commercial Engines and Military Engines organizations are focused on delivering systems solutions to meet customer requirements, driving engineering quality and productivity, and developing the next generation of systems engineers. EDSI is responsible for the integration of components, modules, and sub-systems into world class commercial and military propulsion systems.

Controls & Diagnostics Systems (CDS)

CDS develops complex, cyber-resilient control systems and software for commercial and military engines including power and thermal management Systems and auxiliary power units. CDS also develops advanced diagnostic & health management systems to monitor our products, forecast events and help facilitate MRO operations. With growing emphasis on sustainability, CDS is on the forefront of system development for hybrid and electric propulsion.

**Onsite** : Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

Requires advanced to expert knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

May have broad knowledge of project management. Requires substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or

systems in order to provide enhancements within job area. Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years

prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a

minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
