KBR’s National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. KBR is seeking a Solution Architect to join our team onsite in El Segundo, CA, Colorado Springs, CO or remote.
KBR (formerly LinQuest) is the prime contractor on the MSEIT contract. By applying to this position, you are in consideration for KBR employment. However, you also have the option to be hired by one of our subcontractor teammates.
The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the US Space Force’s Space Systems Center (SSC). We support the Space Force’s acquisition of state-of-the-art satellite communications systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation’s warfighters. Qualifications:
Required:
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline
+ 20+ years of hands-on experience in full stack development and software architecture across enterprise-scale systems
+ Proficiency in backend languages such as Python, .NET, or Java and frontend technologies including React, Angular, or Vue
+ Deep understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA), RESTful API design, and microservices patterns
+ Experience designing and implementing scalable backend infrastructure using PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar databases
+ Proven expertise in containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes
+ Experience architecting systems for performance, reliability, and security in cloud or hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
+ Strong proficiency in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and system observability tools
+ Familiarity with secure development practices, including authentication, authorization models, and encryption strategies
+ Demonstrated experience leading architecture decisions, conducting code reviews, and mentoring development teams
Desired:
+ Experience developing secure applications for government or regulated industries
+ Expertise integrating AI/ML components into software architecture, including LLM APIs, model orchestration, and inferencing pipelines
+ Ability to produce detailed architecture documents, diagrams, and technical roadmaps for executive and engineering audiences
+ Knowledge of event-driven systems, messaging queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ), and streaming architectures
+ Experience with multi-tenant SaaS systems, scalability strategies, and high-availability configurations
+ Strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to align technical solutions with business goals
+ Background in system modernization efforts, including legacy system deconstruction and re-architecture
Basic Compensation: $177,000 - $221,000 in California and $162,000-$202,000 in Colorado
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
