As the Global Head of Enterprise Insights (EI) & Generative BI, you will be a visionary and strategic leader responsible for defining and executing the enterprise-wide strategy for using Generative AI (GenAI) to revolutionize our business intelligence capabilities. The leader in the role will lead a team in reimagining next-generation, AI enabled BI & analytics solutions, empowering stakeholders across all functions with automated, personalized, and actionable insights. You will drive innovation, foster a data-driven culture, and ensure the delivery of secure, high-quality, and scalable GenBI solutions. You will also provide oversight for strategic Third Party Data relationships, ingestion platforms leveraged by our enterprise consumers.
This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement. Candidates who live near our Hartford, CT or New York City offices will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office should maintain their current work arrangement with the expectation of coming into the office as business needs arise.
Responsibilities:
+ Define and execute a multi-year strategy for Enterprise Insights (Business Intelligence including Generative BI) aligned with business goals
+ Modernize legacy BI platforms and establish a GenBI Center of Excellence
+ Evaluate emerging technologies (e.g., conversational BI) to enhance competitive advantage
+ Expertise in integrating semantic/ontology-driven BI platforms with emerging GenAI tools to deliver contextual, personalized insights.
+ Build and lead a high-performing GenBI team of BI professionals and GenAI experts
+ Build discoverable insights into an Insights Marketplace.
+ Develop and promote standardized best practices for enterprise BI and GenBI development
+ Champion adoption of these standards across diverse and decentralized teams
+ Manage vendor relationships and track performance via OKRs
+ Lead product management for BI solutions, data platform products (IaaS/PaaS), and Third Party Data from ideation to execution
+ Ensure product alignment with business and internal customer goals and roadmaps
+ Develop and deploy GenAI-powered BI solutions including real-time dashboards, predictive models, and automated NLP-driven reporting
+ Create intuitive, personalized user experiences to drive adoption
+ Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, translating data into actionable insights
+ Partner across functions to deliver tailored BI solutions and communicate complex data effectively
+ Collaborate across Enterprise Data Services, AI & Analytics, and business functions to maintain platform roadmaps and prioritize requirements
+ Oversee program management to deliver committed platform capabilities
+ Lead Third Party Data strategy teams to integrate and utilize external data sources effectively
+ Manage business requirements and vendor relationships for third party data
+ Promote a data-driven culture through training and education on GenBI tools and best practices
+ Collaborate with cybersecurity and governance teams to ensure ethical, secure, and compliant GenBI deployment
+ Stay current with BI and GenAI trends
+ Pilot and implement new technologies to continuously enhance BI capabilities
Qualifications:
+ Minimum of 12+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, and/or data warehousing, with a proven track record of leadership.
+ Experience implementing robust semantic layers, sophisticated context engineering and knowledge graphs with ontology.
+ Extensive experience with modern BI solutions (Tableau, ThoughtSpot, Strategy etc.) integrated with complex cloud data ecosystems on AWS & GCP.
+ Experience with related platforms & services, including Vertex AI, knowledge graphs, vector databases, data warehouses (preferably Snowflake) etc.
+ Significant experience building, deploying, and managing GenAI or other AI/ML applications in an enterprise environment.
+ Expertise in SQL, Python, or other relevant scripting languages for data manipulation and analysis.
+ Experience with product management in an enterprise setting
+ Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
+ Superior communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to convey complex data to both technical and non-technical audiences, including C-suite executives.
+ Strong team leadership, mentoring, and organizational change management skills.
+ A bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or Business Administration).
+ MBA or equivalent business education preferred to ensure alignment of BI/GenBI strategy with financial, operational, and customer outcomes.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$180,000 - $270,000
