Job Summary
The Sr. IT Program Manager is responsible for the management of a team of Cost Controllers and Project Schedulers on the SAP Modernization Program. The Sr Program Manager will be responsible for actively monitoring and assessing the financial and schedule health of the program.
Ensure accurate allocations of resources throughout the program. Lead multi- disciplinary teams, composed of various levels of personnel, vendors, and clients to create and deploy successful programs. The Sr Program Manager will be responsible for working closely with our SAP PMO , SI and PMOQA Partners, as well as internal teams, ensure adherence to overall program schedule, assess technical risk impact to cost and schedule and ensure proper reporting of Financial and Schedule health to internal and external teams.
The main purpose of the role is to deliver strategic value of a business-aligned SAP Modernization Program through effective team and initiative management. The Sr. IT Program Manager works with peers to shape portfolio needs and ensure that the individual disciplines are aligned towards meeting the strategic goals of the SAP Modernization Project. The resource will use their proven experience managing complex programs to improve business experience, minimize technical debt, and ensure successful delivery of projects. Role will support business and IT leaders to plan, scope, and develop programs and projects to implement business-aligned IT strategies. Develop and manage internal resources to continuously deliver technology and process value within an IT Tower or product aligned portfolio.
Job Responsibilities
+ Manage a team of Cost Controllers and Schedulers to track program budget and expenditures for authorized amount within PSEG stage gate tolerances.
+ Lead and manage programs by coordinating activities and delivery across multiple, related projects or work streams that span technology and areas. Ensures program meets schedule and scope targets.
+ Oversee the proper execution of financial processing and reporting, including the content, presentation, and internal customer interfaces. Direct specific activities related to development and maintenance of financial performance reporting for the SAP Modernization Program.
+ Identify, develop mitigation plans, and monitor to drive timely and effective escalation and risk/issue resolution. Manage and/or escalate issues and/or complications and respond well to time pressures.
+ Track dependencies and risks, and assessing change impact across interdependent work streams and projects.
+ Capture all pertinent actions and decisions.
+ Provide oversight and guidance to those managing smaller projects within specific business unit domain.
+ Track, Monitor and Manage Financial and Schedule Health of the program.
+ Own and Manage the Cost Model, Financial Forecasts, Accruals and Actuals for proper reporting and in line with the needs of PSEG Finance Authorities.
+ Use effective people engagement skills to drive contact with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to manage expectations, establish timelines, and grow relationships.
+ Ensure alignment on scope, value proposition and overall project goals. Work with functional departments to coordinate systems testing, deployment, training, and support.
+ Track and communicate progress; Provide project status report updates to project stakeholders through project level and executive steering committees, maintaining an effective communication cadence. .
+ Ensure proper communication and change management processes are adopted for all major change initiatives.
+ Work Closely with Analytics, OCM, QA, SI, and PSEG Leadership to accurately report on program status and health.
+ Manage team and work to build core competencies within the area with a focus on operational excellence.
+ Oversee vendor deliverables, ensures vendor adherence to contract terms, works with leadership on vendor performance and SLA compliance.
+ Facilitate project tailoring and artifact development to align with project management processes in accordance with project sizing.
Job Specific Qualifications
+ Bachelors degree and 8 years expereince in leading large projects. In lieu of a degree, 10 years of experience in leading large projects.
+ Understanding of and experience with IT project management methodologies, requirements management, quality assurance and IT processes from project inception to successful implementation
+ Demonstrated Experience with Oracle P6
+ Demonstrated Experience with Microsoft Excel for financial planning
+ Understanding of financial principles including experience with project financial budgeting and planning.
+ Strong communication, organization, and facilitation skills. Effective presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross functional audiences.
+ Experience managing outsourced vendors (on and off shore).
+ Strong judgment and analytical ability.
+ Leadership, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to foster working relationships with the team, IT Management and functional departments.
+ Experience in supervising/managing program team members or direct reports as part of program execution
Desired
+ Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
+ Working Experience with Primavera P6
+ Masters Business Administration
+ Experience on large scale transformational technology projects
