    Job Summary and Qualifications

     

    The **Division AVP Clinical Operations and Nursing Excellenc** e provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for nursing services across the South Atlantic Division, with direct accountability for Acute Care, Emergency Services, Surgical Services, Procedural areas, in addition to designated service lines aligned with nursing excellence and professional development. Responsible for the development, management, and delivery of all American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) programs within the division, including Magnet® Recognition Program, Pathway to Excellence®, Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP), and Continuing Education Provider Unit. Leads division-wide efforts to improve patient care through nursing and clinical staff education, onboarding of all new colleagues, and Nurse Leader Orientation. Collaborates with physician and administrative leaders to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care and operational efficiency across service lines. Provides clinical operations oversight for Acute Care, Emergency Services and Surgical Services, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards, performance goals, and patient safety initiatives. Drives service line integration and workforce optimization to support exceptional outcomes, recognized through HCA Unit of Distinction, which includes all Quality/ Nursing Sensitive indicators. Serves as Shared Governance Committee Leader for division-level nursing committees, fostering a culture of empowerment, collaboration, and innovation. Supports nurse-led decision making and the advancement of practice standards across the continuum of care. Champions recognition and excellence in nursing through pursuit and maintenance of national awards, including ENA Lantern Award for Emergency Services and AACN Beacon Awards for Critical Care and Surgical Services. Additional awards and recognition may be pursued as appropriate to highlight excellence across other specialties and teams. Participates in the development of the strategy, structure, methodology, and evaluation of nursing excellence across the division. This role demands a high degree of responsibility, accountability, and autonomy, driving transformational change and fostering a culture of excellence in patient care.

    What qualifications you will need:

    + Master's Degree required; Doctor's Degree preferred

    + 5+ years of experience in healthcare/management required

    + 3+ years of experience in relevant program management as well as project management focused on clinical operations and/or education preferred

    + Registered Nurse - Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state in which he or she practices, in accordance with law and regulation preferred
