Job Summary and Qualifications
This position is fully onsite. This is not a remote or hybrid position.
The Medical Staff Credentialing Coordinator evaluates, analyzes, and coordinates all aspects of the credentialing and re-credentialing processes for providers; both Licensed Independent Practitioners and Advanced Practice Professionals. The Coordinator provides integral support to medical staff operations, enables timely onboarding of healthcare practitioners and ongoing maintenance of credentialing thereafter, and other administrative support or duties as assigned.
+ You will review and screen pre-applications, initial and reappointment credentialing applications for completeness, accuracy and compliance with federal, state, local and Bylaws regulations, guidelines and policy standards.
+ You will conduct primary source verification, collect and validate documents to ensure accuracy of all credentialing elements; assess completeness of information and qualifications relative to credentialing standards, Medical Staff Bylaws and privileging criteria.
+ You will monitor and maintain credential files to ensure completeness and accuracy; review all file documentation for compliance with quality standards, accreditation requirements, and all other relevant policies; prepare and communicate information to other credentialing bodies as appropriate.
+ You will participate in the development and implementation of process improvements for the system-wide credentialing process; prepare reports and scoring required by regulatory and accrediting agencies, policies and standards.
+ You will communicate clearly and effectively with providers, their liaisons, medical staff leadership and Administration, as needed to provide timely responses upon request on day-to-day credentialing and privileging issues as they arise.
What qualifications you will need:
+ High School Graduate or GED. AA or AS Degree preferred
+ CPCS Certification required or on track to obtain within 1 year of hire
+ Minimum 2-3 years experience of hospital-based credentialing, privileging, and meeting management experience in a Medical Staff Office within a hospital setting required
+ Must possess a good understanding of Federal, State regulations, applicable laws and credentialing standards
+ Ability to prioritize job duties, communicate effectively and apply critical thinking skills
+ Advanced computer skills; Microsoft Office, Excel, various provider database programs; i.e., Cactus, MDStaff, etc.

It has the most extensive Emergency Room and Level I Trauma Center in the Inland Empire region and is the primary recipient of STEMI (heart attack) cases in Riverside County.
