Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Goal:

The Radiology Manager is responsible for the department’s continuous effective operation under the direction of the Radiology Director. The radiology manager will assist with operations in CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-ray, Nuclear Medicine, PICC, transportation services and reception areas. Other duties will include assisting the radiology director in providing quality accurate imaging for neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients while understanding the physical needs and limitations of the patient population.

Position Responsibilities:

1. Assists with recurring tasks (payroll, evaluations, supply orders, PACS, etc.)

1. Assume responsibility for the radiology department in the absence of the radiology director

1. Maintain and assist the development of plans for improving patient satisfaction

1. Assures the radiology staff follow hospital and corporate policies for patient safety, infection control and radiation safety.

1. Assists with regulatory compliance for agencies such as ACR, TDH, QRS, and JCAHO.

1. Assures staff is licensed by their accrediting boards and maintains such licensure as required by profession.

1. Assists with staffing and maintaining productivity targets for all radiology departments

1. Assists with the development of quality improvement processes.

1. Provides progressive discipline to staff as needed.

1. Provides assistance with radiology business plan, staff meetings and department goals

1. Understands department budget and provides support with keeping department spending within guideline

2. Helps maintain Radiation Right and Radiation safety programs

Interaction with Other Departments:

Interact continuously with managers and employees of all hospital departments. Attend monthly department head meetings. Provide assistance and support to nursing units throughout the facility.

Position Requirements:

Experience: Previous supervisory experience in a diagnostic imaging facility (preferred).

Clinical experience in the management of multiple diagnostic imaging modalities.

Education: National Certification by A.R.R.T (required). Current licensure issued by Texas Medical board (required).
