    Job Description:

    Position Overview:

    At Parsons, we deliver innovative solutions to the world’s most complex transportation challenges. As a **Principal Transportation Engineer** , you will play a key role in determining methods and solutions for complex engineering problems, applying advanced techniques and analyses to meet project objectives efficiently and economically. This position requires a fully qualified professional with expertise in current engineering theories and practices. You may also serve as a technical consultant for management or clients. Travel or relocation to supplier, client, or construction site locations may be required.

    What You'll Be Doing:

    + Serve as a discipline Project Engineer on medium to large projects, overseeing the work of the team.

    + Plan, direct, and supervise major engineering units or projects requiring significant manpower and financial investment.

    + Lead engineers and design personnel in achieving technical excellence and fostering growth through the Quality Improvement Process.

    + Provide technical consultations for interdisciplinary studies and analyses.

    + Ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations, providing the seal and signature of a professional engineer when required.

    + Prepare material/equipment specifications and purchase requisitions; review supplier data; witness shop tests; and assist with supplier capability assessments.

    + Develop operation and maintenance plans, standard operating procedures, and O&M manuals, and conduct on-site training as needed.

    + Conduct surveys, studies, and site investigations.

    + Perform reliability, availability, maintenance (RAM), and safety analyses.

    + Stay current with industry trends and technologies through professional affiliations.

    + Assist in determining budget estimates and staffing requirements for defined scopes and schedules.

    + Prepare and recommend technical papers.

    + Perform other responsibilities as required by the position.

    What Required Skills You'll Bring:

    + 4-year degree in Engineering (or related field).

    + 10-12 years of related work experience.

    + Professional Engineer (PE) registration may be required.

    What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

    + Proven ability to perform in a lead capacity.

    + Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    + Familiarity with industry practices, codes, and regulations.

    + Thorough knowledge of current technology and the ability to select and apply appropriate engineering software for projects.

    Salary Range: $100,900.00 - $176,600.00
