    WSP USA seeks a dynamic Fare Payments Solution Architect to design and oversee fare payment projects throughout North America. This position may sit out of the following WSP USA offices: **New York, NY; Los Angeles, CA; Chicago, IL; Houston, TX.**

    Your Impact

    + Leverage your technical expertise and strategic thinking to seamlessly integrate all components, including onboard validators and mobile apps, into backend payment processing and data analytics.

    + Lead the design of integrated fare collection systems, incorporating account-based ticketing, smart cards, mobile apps, and open-loop (credit card) payments.

    + Work with transit agencies and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications.

    + Guide development teams to ensure solutions meet architectural designs and quality standards.

    + Identify and troubleshoot issues during the implementation and post-deployment.

     

    Who You Are

    Required Qualifications

    + You possess a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, and a minimum of 10 years of experience in a Solution Architect, Systems Integration, or similar role, with specific expertise in fare collection, ticketing or payment systems.

    + Proven experience as a solution or systems architect leading large, complex fare payment system projects integrating software, electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering—from design to delivery.

    + You have extensive experience managing software development initiatives, including crafting requirements and overseeing fare payment system development, testing, and deployment in live production environments.

    + Expertise in payment processing, EMV (Europay, Mastercard, Visa) standards, and contactless/open-loop payment technology.

    + Strong understanding of cloud architecture and services, with certifications like AWS or Azure.

    + Excellent communication skills to translate complex technical concepts for technical teams and non-technical business leaders.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + A Master’s degree in engineering or an MBA with experience in providing technical leadership to development and project teams.

    + In-depth knowledge of integration patterns, APIs, and microservices architecture.

    Compensation:

    Expected Salary (all locations): $170,000 - $210,000

     

    WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
