We are seeking an Engineer I - Electrical in our rapidly expanding Infrastructure Division. Our Electrical Engineers support a diverse project portfolio including rail and transit stations, facilities, utility work, tool booth and gantries. If you have a broad background in electrical and design and want to be part of a dynamic and innovative team working on large, transportation projects that change the urban fabric of communities, this opportunity is for you. We are looking for candidates with the ability to work in a highly flexible, team-oriented environment that have exceptional communication, analytical and organizational skills. This position performs primarily field assignments related to the construction activities on the project with some high level electrical engineering support as needed.
The Engineer I - Electrical will support the delivery of the Hudson Tunnel Project by assisting senior engineering staff and project managers in the oversight, coordination, and technical review of electrical engineering activities. This role is part of the Delivery Partner team and will work closely with NJ TRANSIT, GDC, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project execution in compliance with all technical, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
+ **Field Engineering & Site Supervision**
+ Assist in the oversight and management of electrical construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and safety standards.
+ Support implementation of the Construction Management Plan and participate in site inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
+ Monitor contractor work for quality, safety, and adherence to schedule.
+ **Design Review & Technical Support**
+ Review electrical design documents, drawings, and specifications prepared by contractors and engineers.
+ Provide input on constructability, feasibility, and compliance with project standards.
+ Support the resolution of technical issues, RFIs, and submittals related to electrical systems.
+ **Project Controls & Documentation**
+ Assist with project controls, including schedule management, cost estimating, and risk management for electrical work.
+ Support document control processes, ensuring accurate tracking and storage of electrical engineering records.
+ Contribute to daily, monthly, and quarterly reporting on project status, progress, and compliance.
+ **Compliance & Quality Assurance**
+ Support implementation of quality assurance and quality control plans for electrical systems.
+ Participate in audits, inspections, and testing to verify contractor compliance.
+ Assist with environmental compliance, including hazardous materials management and adherence to permits.
+ **Coordination & Communication**
+ Attend project meetings and interface coordination sessions with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders.
+ Assist in preparing technical reports, presentations, and briefings for project leadership and external agencies.
+ Support community engagement and outreach activities as required.
+ **Procurement & Asset Management**
+ Assist with procurement support for electrical equipment and materials, ensuring compliance with NJ TRANSIT and GDC policies.
+ Support asset maintenance planning and provide input on long-term reliability and safety of electrical infrastructure.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
+ 1–3 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in transportation or infrastructure projects.
+ Familiarity with construction management, design review, and field engineering practices.
+ Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
+ Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
+ Ability to work in both office and field environments.
Additional Information
+ The position may require travel to field sites and participation in night/weekend work as needed.
+ PPE and safety training will be provided.
+ The role supports the Delivery Partner’s commitment to quality, safety, and compliance throughout the Hudson Tunnel Project lifecycle.

Salary Range: $62,300.00 - $109,000.00
