DCAS seeks a dynamic and experienced professional to serve as a Senior Advisor to the Commissioner. Under executive direction and with the broadest possible latitude to exercise independent judgement and decision making, this senior-level position involves advising on policy and programmatic initiatives and fostering cross-agency collaboration. The Senior Advisor reports directly to the Commissioner and will be responsible for strategic planning, program oversight, project coordination, and delivery.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to performing the following functions:
- Project Management – in coordination with the appropriate lines of service, agencies, and team members, develop project plans and strategies to assist in overseeing and monitoring projects and policy initiatives to ensure goals and timelines are met.
- Program Oversight – serve as a liaison between the lines of service and the Office of the Commissioner to monitor service delivery and assist in handling day-to-day issues.
- Project Coordination – coordinate with lines of services, offices, units, and taskforces to drive current and new policy initiatives, meet project goals and timelines, and review division and agency work product.
- Research, Analysis and Writing – Perform qualitative and quantitative research in connection with policy proposals, priority projects, agency initiatives, and programmatic support. Based on that analysis, provide recommendations – written and verbal -- to relevant staff members; and- General Support – As needed, provide administrative support and coordination, including preparation of correspondence and briefing memoranda, background research and information, and meeting planning.

Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time experience in one or more of the following fields: real estate management, policy analysis, urban development, public relations, journalism, fund raising, advertising, public or business administration or a related field, at least eighteen months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, or executive capacity or supervising personnel performing duties in one or more of the fields described above; or
2. A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to "1" above. However, all candidates must have the eighteen months of administrative, managerial, executive a supervisory experience described in "1" above.
