Glimpse of the Job
The Manager of Research Compliance will provide leadership, management, and subject matter expertise for research compliance programs within the Cyclotron Institute. The selected candidate for this position will ensure that research activities are conducted in accordance with federal, state, and institutional regulations, funding agency guidelines, and accreditation standards. The Manager will also develop, implement, and oversee compliance procedures and training to promote responsible research practices.
Opportunities to Contribute:
+ Lead and manage the research compliance programs for the Cyclotron Institute.
+ Ensure that all research involving radiation, human participants, or other regulated areas adheres to applicable laws, regulations, and institutional policies.
+ Develop and implement procedures for compliance review, approval, and oversight.
+ Monitor program effectiveness and recommend improvements to maintain compliance and efficiency.
+ Create, update, and enforce policies and procedures related to research compliance.
+ Develop and coordinate training programs for faculty, staff, and students on regulatory requirements and institutional expectations.
+ Ensure that compliance education materials remain current with federal and state regulations.
+ Oversee assigned institutional compliance committees, providing subject matter expertise during meetings.
+ Serve as a liaison to university departments, system offices, and external agencies to ensure compliance across all applicable research activities.
+ Prepare and submit reports to internal and external stakeholders, including federal and state agencies, as required.
+ Serve as a point of contact for compliance audits and inquiries.
+ Represent the Cyclotron Institute in university-level compliance discussions and initiatives.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Health Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Nuclear Science, Radiological Health, Radiological Protection, Radiological Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Six years of related experience.
+ Ability to lift and/or move moderate weight objects.
A well-qualified candidate will also possess:
+ Strong preference given to candidates with a Master’s degree in Health Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Nuclear Science, Radiological Health, Radiological Protection, or Radiological Science.
+ Experience managing compliance programs in research or higher education setting.
+ Knowledge of federal and state research compliance regulations and guidelines.
+ Ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations to a variety of research contexts.
+ Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
+ Skill in developing and delivering training programs.
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate's education and experience.
Special Note: This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding, which is renewed through provisions of the grantor of the contract. Therefore, this position is contingent upon continuation of funding from these grants and/or contracts, as well as satisfactory job performance.
