+ As an Analyst/Sr. Analyst, Revenue Management Strategy and Analysis, you’ll be part of the Revenue Analysis team, a key area within the Commercial Planning and Performance department of the Revenue division. This team leads and manages a wide range of projects that directly drive revenue growth for American Airlines and its partners.
+ In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with the Revenue Management team and partner with stakeholders across the commercial organization – including Sales Programs, Network Planning & Scheduling, Sales, Marketing, Alliances, Loyalty, and partner airlines. Together, you’ll analyze, identify, and implement revenue-maximizing initiatives and changes, improve processes, and communicate trends to deliver better commercial outcomes.
+ This position is ideal for someone with exceptional problem-solving skills, advanced data analytics capabilities, solid commercial acumen, and the ability to present insights clearly to senior leaders. Success also requires strong collaboration skills to work effectively with internal and external partners.
What you'll do
+ **Solve complex challenges** : apply strategic thinking to tackle difficult business problems and present actionable recommendations to leadership.
+ **Develop expertise** : build a deep understanding of Revenue Management, develop best practices to collect supporting data necessary to track, monitor and evaluate performance and initiatives, and learn other commercial concepts while supporting business decisions in a fast-paced environment.
+ **Analyze and uncover opportunities** : use advanced data analytics and visualization to identify new revenue opportunities and provide insights into market trends, customer behavior, and competitive dynamics.
+ **Communicate clearly** : translate complex models and analyses into simple, business-friendly terms to gain buy-in from stakeholders.
+ **Support team growth** : mentor and guide other Revenue Analysis team members as they develop their analytical and strategic capabilities.
All you'll need for success
+ Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
+ 2+ years of experience in a data analysis role
+ Proven ability to draw insights from complex data sources and communicate findings in business-friendly terms
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint
+ Preferred Qualifications
+ Master’s degree with significant coursework or experience in a quantitative discipline (e.g., economics, mathematics, engineering, finance)
+ Proficient in SQL
+ Experience with data visualization and analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Python
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
+ Strong knowledge of MS Office suite; familiarity with tools for quantitative analysis (SAS, R, Python, Tableau, PowerPivot)
+ Ability to craft compelling data-driven stories and present insights to senior audiences using clear visualizations and logical flow.
+ Strong project management skills: ability to develop timelines, manage projects independently, and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
+ Demonstrated ability to take intelligent risks, innovate, and apply entrepreneurial thinking.
+ Willingness to travel as needed to meet with key stakeholders.
