Ensures the safe and effective use of medications by providing medication order verification while assessing for optimal drug product selection dosage regimen design effective administration and drug therapy monitoring services in the UVA Medical Center. Monitors inpatient and outpatient drug therapies when appropriate and works with relating medical staff to find alternatives when needed to ensure the best care possible is being given.

As the dedicated pharmacist for the oncology inpatient units, you’ll play a vital role in supporting patients undergoing stem cell transplantation, cellular therapy, and treatment for malignant hematologic conditions._
_What You’ll Do:_
+ _Ensure safe, effective, and individualized medication therapy for high-acuity oncology patients_
+ _Collaborate with hematology-oncology specialists, transplant teams, and nursing staff_
+ _Support advanced treatments including CAR-T, DLI infusions, and novel immunotherapies_
+ _Contribute to education, mentorship, and continuous professional development_

Minimum Qualifications
+ Education: Bachelor’s in Pharmacy or Pharm. D Degree required.
+ Experience: PGY-1 residency required or equivalent hospital experience. (3.years). PGY-2 residency is preferred for specialty areas.
+ Licensure/Certifications: Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider. BLS certification required.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Education: Bachelor’s in Pharmacy or Pharm. D Degree
+ Experience: PGY-2 residency in Hematology Oncology or relevant clinical experience
+ Licensure/Certifications: Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider. BLS certification required.
**Physical Demands –** Job requires sitting for prolonged periods; Repetitive motion: typing. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull < 20lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
Compensation
+ The pay rate for this role starts at $64.37 per hour. New hire compensation will be determined by education and experience.
Onboarding Requirements
Background checks and pre-employment health screenings** will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. All safety-sensitive positions with direct patient interaction also require a **drug screen.
Position Compensation Range: $55.67 - $89.07 Hourly
