Job Title: Substation Physical Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Substation Physical Engineer to provide engineering expertise for mid to large-scale substation projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AutoCAD and Microstation and will be adept at working with voltages higher than 138kv. This role involves supporting multiple client projects, including both existing substations and new builds, covering brownfield and greenfield projects.
Responsibilities
+ Provide engineering services for mid to large-scale substation projects.
+ Design and implement solutions for high voltage electrical systems, specifically 138kv and above.
+ Utilize AutoCAD and Microstation for project design and implementation.
+ Support various client projects across multiple locations, including a major client in Arizona.
+ Work on both brownfield and greenfield projects involving existing and new substations.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 7 years experience in Substation Engineering.
+ Experience with high voltage electrical systems (138kv+).
+ Expertise in physical substation engineering.
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microstation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ PE License is a plus, with a willingness to obtain within 6 months of employment.
+ Experience in industrial or oil & gas sectors working on high-voltage substations.
+ Knowledge of switchgear and relays.
+ Construction experience is advantageous.
+ Experience with voltages up to 765kv is a plus.
Work Environment
The position is office-based from 8 AM to 5 PM, with the flexibility for work from home if performance metrics are met. The company offers a 9/80 schedule, allowing every other Friday off, and provides 30 work-from-home days. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
