    Job Title: Body Engineering Project Leader

    Job Description

    The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and manage new model projects from all aspects of Body engineering in North American Body Manufacturing Shops. The person in this role will support the Body Production Engineering department's objective to provide new model processes to the manufacturing facilities which meet all targets for Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead process development through design, machine specification, equipment procurement, installation, safety risk assessments, dimensional accuracy investigations, and process trials based on project milestones and events.

    + Manage work to achieve project KPIs.

    + Execute onsite equipment modifications during non-production time (weekends, holidays, etc.).

    + Participate in team kaizen and organizational improvement activities.

    + Collaborate with outside groups (Body Manufacturing Pilot, Stamping PE, Plant Facilities, etc.) to divide responsibilities.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SolidWorks.

    + Experience in CAD software, Mechanical Design, and Mechanical Engineering.

    + Knowledge of continuous improvement and manufacturing process improvement.

    + Background in Manufacturing Engineering.

    + Minimum 1-year automotive experience.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience with AutoCAD and general 3D modeling software.

    + Ability to verify and validate equipment specification and design.

    + MS Projects experience is a plus.

    + Strong skills in Excel for KPI tracking, reporting, and problem management.

    Work Environment

    This position requires 60% desktop work and 40% floor work, including visiting the process to confirm equipment condition, supervising general contractor installations and modifications, and supporting production during start-up. Travel is required, with 30% domestic and international trips to Canada and Mexico. Overtime may be needed during weekdays, weekends, shutdowns, holidays, and odd hours. Onsite work requires wearing PPE such as a hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, ear plugs, and safety glasses, with some equipment provided. The role offers stable long-term contracts and opportunities for growth, with 10 PTO days, 9 paid holidays, and compensation for any hours over 40.

    This position is based out of Georgetown, Kentucky.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $46.00/hr.
