Job Description
As an Instrument Operator, you will cut lines, carry equipment, and support the crew chief in setting up for each project. You will set up GPS systems and collect data, working hands-on in the field while reading blueprints. Your role will support residential land development, TXDOT projects, boundary surveys for owners, and as-built surveys.
Responsibilities
+ Cut lines and carry necessary equipment for surveying tasks.
+ Assist the crew chief in setting up GPS systems for each project.
+ Collect data and perform hands-on work in the field.
+ Read and interpret blueprints for various survey projects.
+ Support residential land development and TXDOT projects.
+ Conduct boundary surveys and as-built surveys for property owners.
+ Utilize AutoCAD for survey-related tasks if CAD experience is present.
Essential Skills
+ Experience working outdoors, preferably in surveying, construction, or landscaping.
+ A general understanding of the surveying industry.
+ Ability to self-motivate and work independently.
Work Environment
This role requires travel up to 50% of the time for survey work. Expect to work in varying outdoor conditions. Training opportunities are available for those interested in a career in surveying.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
